Crossing one off the bucket list... Officially booked for Yellowstone / Island Park! Can't wait to try the 155" in the Mtns, didn't make it last season. January can't come soon enough!!!

are you using a guide? I used to guide out west and I can give a super sweet secret location to head to...most guides take their tour there IF they are extreme and/or experienced riders....so ask him to take you there...you could make it an adventure to find on yer own too.....its only accessable by sled in winter....last time I was there you get rationed 3 gallons of gas since its flown in (used to be anyways) in summer and its 4 times the cost and YOU WILL BE HAPPY....LOL...on the way is an awesome area to hillclimb up and down a river ravine that you can high mark trees on each side as you climb....100mph down the ravine wall...spinal compression....up up up WOT WHEELIE....high mark...down again...rinse and repeat....your destination if you choose the mission is.......ELK LAKE LODGE....rip across the lake from the ravine....so its opposite the lodge end of lake...capeesh...enjoy....best food...only sledders....and the gas fo you machine...trust me...run only CHEVRON PREMIUM WITH TECHRON ADDITIVE.....it wont disappoint...I always ride cats since they are EFI and not effected by the altitude like other sleds are...rentals that is...have fun....and little tip....almost ALL avalanches form on the northeast faces....due caution on all those faces...we usually went to 2 top and then up to black mountain and then hit north side of lake and enter lodge after lake run....you'll see ravine if you go that way...the other way you don't have to cross 20 if your already on that side....that's just one day...dam you gonna have funski

Thanks for the tip. I've got the map and will check this out. No guide planned, sounds like I need to touch base with PR1 thou.

Just booked a trip to the Black Hills starting Feb 15. Only thing on the schedule so far.

LOVE the Black Hills. Been there several times. Usually "snow and go" which wasn't going to work with my group. Banking on IP being a bit more consistent (fingers crossed). Went a few years back right around the time of your dates (left on 2/21) and got a huge dump, hopefully history repeats for you this season.

Yes, thank you, will be riding IP in March. It is an easy area to learn. This will be my 7th trip there.

You going with Mom's or ??? Might have to get some info from you on the area if you don't mind sharing.

but have plans for a NY trip and possible a MI trip this yr, pending snow!

Making the trip up to Grizzly Lodge in BC at the end of January and Idaho sometime in early March. The Grizzly trip is a bucket list item for me so that should be a trip of a lifetime!!
