Truck bed lights project

Thought I would share a little lighting project I did for my truck bed. Turned out great. Should be great for camping, and even when done sledding at the end of the day.
Was using some battery motion lights but was sick of replacing the batteries.

Parts- 16' reel of flexible LED's from Amazon. $8

Rockerswitch, pressure/door switch, inline fuse, and electrical box (plasti-dipped black of course.)
Wanted lights to come on when tailgate opened so used a door switch but also wanted to be able to shut them off if driving with tailgate open.
Mounted the lights on underside frame of my tonneau cover.
Just grabbed power from my trailer plug in harness. (orange wire if you have newer F-150)
Just need to make a jumper so it's hot all the time.

we do but my truck is a yr old and the bed looks like a cement guy owned it for a decade .
looks nice but don't think the auto switch would make the week in my box .
I was thinking those lights would be the ticked for my clam trailer

Wow, nothing!? Tough crowd. Lol.
Figured few people owned trucks on here.

Yep I'm with ezra on this one, the 1st load of wood would take them out, but inside the trailer I think they would be just the ticket especially if you mounted a set low and a set high, if my truck bed looked as nice as yours my wife would have me sleeping in it

Ha,ha , well my bed is used just not abused.
Had 1,800 lbs. of decortive stone dumped in twice this summer. Thanks to the bedrug it doesn't look like "a cement guy owned it for a decade."

Lights area about 2 nickels in thickness and mounted flush, not gonna get wrecked. As for the switch, theres other ways to wire it. Could wire it to dome light so it comes when open door or when key fob is used.
Just nice to have some light when camping looking for stuff or when hunting and loading up after dark.
