We did 640 miles in 2.5 days. Trails on Friday 12-29 were excellent in Twin Lakes, crappy through rockland, and good down by bergland. Houghton was a little rocky but good once you got out of town. Day 2 Saturday was better, we went alll the way up to copper harbor and took 3 to 134 and that was excellent. Into Lac La Belle was good and also the high rock trail was good, all flat and white. Day 3 Sunday was the best day of the weekend after a fresh 6-8 inches fell on saturday night from the system snows. We did the greenland loop out of twin lakes and we were one of the first sleds down it. We went back up to Lac La Belle after that and back. Day 4 Monday when we left we had to drive home in the snow and that was the Lake effect snow, and that amounted to another 8-12 inches depending on where you were. So now you can basically ride any direction now after the system snows and the Lake effect from sunday and monday, even northern wisconsin is good now I heard that presque isle got 16 inches sunday and monday total.
Overall the trip was good, and I got to break in my new 2011 800 ho crossfire which was the main objective on the weekend. Hope to be up again at the end of the month.
By the way we made it to the Mosquito each day great bar!
