Riding along everything running just fine. Crossed a road, got on the throttle and temp and engine light came on and went into limp mode. No way it was hot because of low snow. Coolant level OK. Engine runs fine in limp mode. Left it sit 15-20 minutes to cool. Started up and same thing. Sent my buddy to get truck and trailer. Started up again 45 minutes later and just the engine light came on and beeped 4 times. Didn't try riding it because don't know if still in limp mode or not. Dropped it off at the Doo dealer in Independence Iowa. Hopefully find out Monday as leaving for Northern Wisconsin on Wednesday morning. Sled has 5000 miles on it.

Buddies Poo was only running 130 degrees in same conditions.

Any ideas?

Possibly a bad/malfunctioning exhaust gas temp sensor? Seems like something is telling the brain that it's getting too hot (even if it isn't).

this may sound silly but if your ski-doo shop has a hard time diagnosing the problem have them look into the speedo. had this problem last yr & after much wasted time & money the shop figured out that it was corrosion in the speedo connection. new speedo & error free since. weird but true

I had the same problem with my SDI. Ended up having to replace the mag side injector. For an extensive discussion of what can cause engine light and "limp mode" on the SDI engine, check out DooTalk. (could be as simple as wires rubbing on the jack shaft or ultrasonic welds on the injector wiring harness). Good luck, hope its not serious.

Injector

I have an 08 600 SDI gade. Dont waste $$$ at other remote dealers. I spent approx $170 and all they did was put another 5 amp fuse in. Got it home to my dealer in Southern WI (Clicks - the best) and it turned out to be a bad fuel injector. In fact my sled is #6 in two weeks with bad injectors. Could be a engine temp sensor but its acting the same way my sled did.

Did it set a code and do you know what the code was? I know Doans In Independence is a pretty good dealer. Also know where clicks is. Heard good things about them also.

holy man, $40 labor?!?!? where'd you go to get that good of a rate? Don't most shops charge a minimum of 1 hours worth of labor? or is $40 their hourly rate? sled shops around here is $90 an hour.
