Over 21000 acres so far out east North of Newberry.
Seney refuge fire was around 3000 acres. I hear that one is under control.
Also heard there was a fire over in the Autrain area.
LAst night Tri County fire was called out to Stevens lake area. No fire was found. Seems every one is fire spooked.
There was lingering smoke in the area. THink it might have been form one of the big fires. Who knows. Every one is at a heightened state of awareness.

I just checked the ole insurance policy. Paid in full :)

We did get some rain last night. It is still drizzleing today and over cast with no real wind. Good fire fighting weather.

I try to see the positive side of things that happen in life. The woods are reborn after a fire. It is a natural cycle. Us humans are "trying" to manage nature.
It is unfortunate that people lose their homes etc. This is one of the risks of living in such a beautiful place.

Buring Ban is in place in the UP. It is a mistomener if you get caught having one. If you start a forest fire, they charge you for what it cost to put it out.
Dont be an idiot.

Yea that's crazy! I heard there was one by Round Lake of about 40 acres. That's not very far from my cabin at all! They got it taken care of.

Be safe!

Got back on Friday from a Canadian fishin trip; didn't know there was a fire, until we got on I-75 south of the international bridge then the highway got smokey....a quick google and found out about the fire. Smokey road way for 20 miles before it cleared up. With that much ground burned, there has to be some cabin losses....not to mention the poor bears burned out of house and home!
