I got lucky and she (ilcatwoman2) loves riding as much as I do so we are wanting to honeymoon to the UP where are some reccommended places to go/stay? I guess she wants to stay somewhere nice rather than cheap like most sed trips LOL! We know we want to see Copper as we didnt make it there last year and Lake of the Clouds. Thanks!

Konteka white pine is cozy with good food & bar. Often can have sauna & whirlpool room to yourselves.:) Long ride to CH from there so would stay at Mariner in CH leave rig at Konteka. Good luck sounds like a great gal!

Get your own cabin at The Mariner North in Copper Harbor. If you haven't been to that area, it will make the memory even better. You can pay for massages there by the minute and it's a beautiful area. Be sure to get on top of Brockway Mountain and look down over the town. Lake of the Clouds is a great first time see too. When will this honeymoon be taking place? Congrats and best wishes to ilcatwoman2!

It's not the easiest place to get to on sled, but not impossible either. It's a mile or so west (most folks think it's south when you are up there) of Copper Harbor. One of the most magnificent log homes you will ever be able to sleep in, right on the big lake and very cool owners.

Would help to make a very memorable honeymoon. After all, one only gets a few chances to get it right! :O

Thanks! We are checking out all the places mentioned so far, I think a real trip topper would be getting to meet the man himself John Dee and his family LOL

Check out hiawatha's hideaway. It's obviously in the Hiawatha national forest. Various cabins to rent. We stayed there once at a place before we built our cabin. Congrats! We just got married this summer and are doing our honeymoon at the end of march in the Olympic peninsula. I have to get some steelhead fishing in ;)

We stayed in South Range at the Wildlife Refuge Cabins on our honeymoon. It's an easy ride to CH as well as a nice central spot to ride in all directions.

I second the Dapple Grey. My wife and I honeymooned there in August 2010 and it was great. I absolutely love the Copper Harbor area. The best part of the honeymoon (other than....well, you know) was taking the sunset boat tour from the Copper Harbor Marina out to the lighthouse to watch the sun set over the lake on a beautiful evening with a pancake-flat lake. Absolutely fantastic.
