I would be willing to bet that some areas like Seney will continue to groom in April. They did a few years back when we had conditions like this. Certainly will be able to ride in April.
Does the DNR make that call, or the snowmobile clubs? Spring break is the first week of April, sure would be great to get one more ride in. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Anyone remember if this has happened before, what was "the last minute" and do they put a window of time on it like saying they will be open 3 days, 7 days etc?
How about main trails say 3, 13, 120, 121, 122, 124, which of these would be state trails vs ones that have easments with private land owners? I would assume 3 for instance would be open (not groomed though) as long as you want to ride to get to some woods, but something like 13 in the south, or 124 in the north would close. Thoughts?
Thread in the Conditions Section has a HCS link that says 2 areas have been approved to continue grooming in April. I would think more would follow, but still wonder about trails on private land and if they would remain open.
There is a rumor floating around here that the DNR office out of Seney has already committed to extending the season to April 15th. Seems a tad early to me to make that commitment but I was told they only get one time to extend.
