Using a HD Steam Cleaner

Just bought a McCulloch steam cleaner, been playing around cleaning the belly pan & motor stuff with 50/50 success. anyone else ever try this, possibly use a cleaner-degreaser in addition to the steam ? It seems OK but I was hoping for it to peel the 2-stroke smuck off.
Any Input, I'm just trying to clean up the motor compartment.

They claim to be able to clean an old cruddy motor up with no problem. I don't know about that though, I don't own one but was looking at one to clean the crap off of my 51 chev.
Maybe use some of that Simple Green with it.

oven cleaner on aluminum powervalves works awesome, it just doesn't work good on your hands. Ask me how I know :) With a little scrubbing, oven cleaner gets every last bit of carbon off the valves. Sorry PR1, no amsoil interceptor this next winter 4 me. dominator slight possibility but most likely klotz, poo blue, or arctic blue. interceptor too thin for my liking :( leaves no oil film in motor. now, back to "cleaning"

MJK, purple power is my favorite cleaner/degreaser, i put it in a spray bottle and go thru it like nuts. my mom buys the 1 gallon jugs when they go on sale for 2 for $7 at auto parts stores. She also uses it on my clothes to get grease out. Works great on just about everything. My mom used it to clean our floors, and left a puddle of it for a half hour, and we have a WHITE stain on our off-white vinyl floors.

That bio stuff is 9.00$ for 16oz. I better not have to even wipe it off for that much.
Thats more per gallon than the Mystic race oil I use in my sled.
