I think I posted this one on here before. It's a couple of years old so not sure if it still works but we'll give it a try. In this particular case I found an out of the way place without other traffic and used a tri-pod along with a suction cup attachment for the camera. This was edited with PowerDirector12.

Yup, selfie pics are so old school. Lol

Come on, somebody step up and be first to video yourself instead of your buddies while snowmobiling.

That is so cool, I want one, but I am afraid to be a Guiney pig. Love the concept though. I wonder how the flight time would be affected in the colder temps of winter. I'm going to keep my eye on this. Thanks for the heads up.-Mezz

I like it too, but probably wait 2-3 years let them get the bugs worked out before i buy one. Price will most likely drop significantly also. Looks like a fun toy, but most guys I ride with have cams too, so I get them they get me. The high angle will certainly get some good shots.

Yeah! They state 20 minute flight time. 2 hour recharge using 5 amp charger.
Really cool concept. Its max speed of 25mph is a bit weak.
$520.00 toy

I think this awesome. Yes, only 20 minute fly time, the battery lasts 4 hours. So that would be 12 - 20 minute videos. Cheaper than I thought it would be. But, the $499 is the preorder price and is supposed to go up to $999.

I think its just the tracking device that has 4 hour battery life, the drone only 20 minutes, then needs 2 hour charge.

Its cool, I wonder how close it follows, what about trees and such? The video shows pretty wide open areas, would suck to loose a 500 dollar toy in the top of a tree

See (click →) the FAQs.
Some of the interesting ones:
Does Lily have obstacle avoidance?
Currently, Lily does not have any obstacle avoidance capabilities. We have found that most outdoor activities do not need obstacle avoidance because Lily can follow the user's path. But again, there are no guarantees that Lily will not hit anything while it is following you. If Lily is about to hit an object you can press the middle button on the tracking device and Lily will stop, hold its position, and continue to film you.

Will Lily videos have sound?
Yes, the tracking device has a microphone that records high quality sound. Lily automatically synchronizes audio from the tracking device with video it records.

Can Lily stream video?
Lily streams low-resolution live video to the companion app to help you frame your shots.

How does Lily track me?
Lily tracks the tracking device and uses computer vision to optically follow your features. You should have the tracking device on you for Lily to follow you.

How close/far can I fly Lily from me?
Min distance from user: 5 ft (1.75 m) Max distance from user: 100 ft (30m)

How low/high can Lily fly from me?
Min altitude: 5 ft above head level (1.75 m) Max altitude: 50 ft (15 m)

What happens when Lily loses track of me?
Lily will hover in place and try to recover the signal. As soon as it finds you, It will go back to whatever mode it was in before it lost you.

What happens when Lily runs out of power when it is in the air?
The tracking device will send you pulse vibrations when the battery is running low. If you don’t land it, Lily will smoothly land before running out of battery.

Where can I not use Lily (according to current FAA guidelines)?
Near airports ...

I got a drone for x mass . she brought in my rear bag and said it has to fit in here. never got a chance to use it but plan on bringing it west and da UP after a bit of summer flying practice. I think she spent 275 on it at some local RC shop

The cool thing about this lily drone, is it follows you, flys itself. It follows whoever has the tracker on them. You set it for Lead, Follow, etc. And how far aloft, and distance from tracking device. And away you go.

it is sweet . we were talking about when they would come out with that tec for the consumer a few yrs back. there is a cam that has been out a few yrs u can set on a tripod and same deal it would follow the fob.
can u set altitude over fob on that thing? trees could be a real biotch with a fragile toy close to a grand.

nom replicable battery in this one they say
no collision avoidance in this one yet they say.
no units shipping till feb some time.
deff cool thought about pre ordering but think I will hold off for a few more models. I bet by then they will have the 2 above options.

I figure waiting like 2 years, so they have those, cuz if flight time doesn't increase much a couple batterys would be a must. And obstacle avoidance is a must also. Good chance of wanting to launch it when running power lines, and there is always trees jumping in front of my sled so I'm sure they would try to take out a drone.
Looks like the flight altitude is able to be set between 5 feet and 100 feet.
I think the price will most likely drop too. Electronics always start high and drop quick.
