This is short notice to all. However if you have a moment please take the time to voice your opiniion!

At this time Vilas County Parks and Recreation Dept. is getting ready to write it's 2014-2019 Recreation Plan. This is a pressing subject in the area as two sides still collide in regards to ATV's in Vilas County. These must be post dated or done by the 28th of Sept.

Did mine. Sure gave them a lot of info, was wondering if I would run out of comment room. Not a very good survey though, I wonder how they plan to get usable results. Is there any plan to publish the results or what actions they determine need to be taken? If there is a public meeting one question I would ask is how they know if the responses they received are from people that have an impact on the local economy. There were no questions about if you are a full time resident, seasonal, or just a 1 week vacation person. Nothing about age, gender, or income range. Seems to me you can't make decisions about how to both serve individuals and grow the local economy if you don't know those kinds of things.

I agree that survey sucked. I got bored with filling it out. Give me choices in the questions. Where am I, high school English class with essay type answer questions?

The survey was pretty basic I agree. I believe Dale Mayo would be the person to contact with questions at the Forestry Dept. in Eagle River. The basis of the survey is to help figure out the future plan for Vilas County Outdoor Recreation... How about create an equal opportunity county! A place where anyone can find something to do!

I let them have it, as a cabin owner in Vilas county i want them to open up the trails for ATV's. This tree huger county is loosing a lot of money to people going everywhere but Vilas. Bike trails don't bring in revenue, its just a fact. walkers and hikers want trails but don't pay for s%it

Sounds like a lot of Pro ATV people spoke their minds on this issue! Thanks to all who have responded. Maybe someday Vilas County will become and Equal Opportunity County!
