Not doubting your info Bryan, but last year on this date, we set a new record high for the day of 53.

Hang in there. Cold and snow coming soon.

i sure hope your talking about Lake Geneva freezing up by then. For once I'd like to ride in southern WI
instead of driving six hours to get to the snow.

I am the 3rd generation in Lake Geneva.... I wouldn't ride a sled or drive a car on Geneva Lake if I was paid.......VERY dangerous lake because of springs and west/east water flow..... I've spent a great deal of time ice boating on the lake......DANGEROUS !!! I'll stick to the lakes up north.

On my drive to Rhinelander today saw some of ER chain frozen and lakes in Sugar Camp all ice but very bumpy. Maybe Thursday for mine.

first morning with a touch of crust by my dock. Based on what I see in the forecast it should take to long now.

Good advice NOT to ever ride Geneva Lake no matter how good you think the ice might be. Always holes out there or edges that are water. I have skied and skated to unfrozen edges and you go from over a foot of ice to water. A few years ago a bunch of parked cars went in the lake during winterfest.....a poor choice for anyone that knows the lake.

I would imagine Kentuck is wide open yet given its size compared to Spectacle?

Don't know but North Twin is still open too. Things are changing quickly now and wind is keeping some lakes open. Good side of the wind is bringing in LES bad side keeps lake water moving. I was very surprised that the ER chain had ice yesterday. Spectacle is frozen but wet in front of my house but I'm on the northeast end. I'll be out and about Friday so will do some checking. I'll also poke some holes next week in Spectacle see exactly what we have out there.

Got to be making ice up there, as even the Fox River in southern Waukesha Cty. had ice on shore edges this morning. Next week will be major cold Tues-Thurs, even down here.

We rode that lake several times during the 1970's with no problems. I remember one time in the late 70's when we pulled up to where we would unload the sleds at the boat ramp just east of the Riviera there was a Audi/Saab sitting 50' from the ramp flipped over on it's roof. The story I got from the locals was that it was stolen in Williams Bay and the person tried to drive it clear across the lake. So of course I climbed up on top of the car, and my father snapped a pic of me. Yes I still have that pic....SOMEWHERE....
