Vintage home made sled / summer project

I have some pics of my summer project that I made it my priority to restore this fall. It is a home made sled that some one built about 40-45 years ago maybe longer. I inherited this sled from a good friend of mine when he passed away 10 years ago. After looking at it sitting in my shed for 10 years I made it my goal to restore this sled and get it out and "show" it off. Hopefully the pictures will download.

Wow! That is old school! I can't even imagine the work that goes into something like this. It safe to say you have one of a kind. Nicely done!

Thanks guys for the compliments. I took it to Crivitz last weekend for a show and had a lot of looks . I have been keeping track of what I have invested in this thing and it is not that much, but I have a ton of hours stuck in it. I still have some minor things to do to make it complete than I can move to next project.

Looks like you put a ton of effort into that project! That is definitely a keeper. I wonder how many of these home made machines are lurking in sheds and barns? Do they have a 'category' for these at vintage shows?
