Vintage on/off road bikes

Why are bikes like Honda SL's and early XL's so expensive? I have been watching e-bay and craigslist for a SL 125 - 250 or an early XL 125 - 250 and I can not beleive how much they go for (don't even get me going on z-50's,lol). More than when they were new. I am almost to the point of giving up on the vintage idea and getting a new Yamaha XT250. Found a great deal on a non-current.

If you think they're bad, try finding a nice vintage open class MX bike. Unless you want one for sentimental reasons I would get a newer one, much better bike. 10-15 years ago the vintage bikes like z50 and ct70's were even higher.

Some of those vintage enduro's are getting tough to find. Cool old stuff for sure. However the newer stuff is so much better if you are looking for a good ride.
