snocrazy, your right on the mulah about being an educated user, and I am not, so I'm leaving to a pro.
dcsnomo, you gave all the tools, I just couldn't produce. I think if you were sitting right beside me I still wouldn't get it done.
I thank you for trying.
I have to go see what kind of beer the guy next door likes.

Ok, let's solve this for you. If you have that many errors you have a spyware problem, not a virus problem. These are different issues and require differnet solutions.

First, you need to solve the spyware problem.
1) go to your browser and clear your browsing history, cache, and cookies...all that stuff
2) You have some type of security product already installed. While they want more money to update the database, the software itself is still good. Using this software, run a full system scan and "fix" the problems it finds
3) Run/enable Windows Defender, "fix" the issues
4) Go to www.downloads.com and download malawarebytes and Ad-Aware. Be sure to select the free versions, be sure not to select the teaser ads that will cost you money. Run these, you can do them at the same time, "fix" problems.
5) Go to Start, all programs, accessories, system tools, and run disk cleanup. Do what it says
6) Download a new copy of AVG free and run it to deal with viruses
7) Ensure you have a firewall enabled, Windows is good if there is no interference
8) Run your disc defragmenter

If that doesn't do it, hire the high school kid next door!

To funny, flew my kids in from mn, adobe quit working, my wifes mom pd 200 to fix hers, he had it fixed in less than an hour. Basicly, saved everything on a flash drive and wiped the whole thing clean then reloaded the programs. I was just going to buy a new one, why fix it. If you do not know how? Funny how we used to carry a checkbook, now can not find it!

MY 2 cents on Norton - It is the biggest bunch of crap resource hog software ever bundled with computers. The prices are also ridiculous.

Never used the new one, huh? Norton Internet Security 2011 is the best one out there. Look it up. You can have your "free" ones, I will keep using the best.

3 years ago I was running Norton, all of a sudden I had a virus, I then installed avast, it caught and fixed the virus that Norton did not catch. I have been using avast on the home computer, and the laptop. Works great, and is free.
