My husband and I will be there. We will also be selling raffle tickets for the Hall of Fame raffle of the 2012 Skidoo and 1978 Brian Nelson Arctic Cat.

I know my dad will be there hopefully driving around on his 1972 ATX he would like to sell. Let's hope the ice on the lake holds everyone!

no it is a go I never got word of a cancellation ever.
with the cold snap last week the ice is good for parking and racing.
I know like 6yrs ago or so the ice was bad and it was held on shore but not this yr.
I think there is even enough snow for the vintage ride prob not a trail ride just a cruise around the lake

I'm planning on going. If I can find time to get it out of the garage I'm going to bring my 1971 Moto-Ski Mini Sno out there to tool around on. Also I'm bringing my 4yo daughter along to ride with and see the sights. It'll be a tight fit w/the 2 of us on that little sled.

I cant wait to pig out on the VFW pork chops my fav part of the event. I have no vintage this yr and with no snow I hate to drive the 2 1/4 track around but then I hate to walk around all day.prob just use a bit of hyfax and call it a day.
last yr I just grabbed people trying to sneak in from the lake it was crazy how many guys come out on there 11k sleds and don't want to pay. it goes to buy piston bully's and to clubs and charity and they try to sneak in sad state of affairs.
MMMMM pork chops

..............correction...........

Warm weather & ice conditions update - FINAL

With last weeks cold weather, our event is a go! All events and activities are expected to proceed as usual. Recent snows will allow an abbreviated trail ride.

On Lake Waconia now, there is certainly enough ice for foot traffic and snowmobiles, but not vehicle parking.

every one should take a look at the link provided above and then read the "news" tab!

Hey Ezra where are you going to be working at the sled show? It would be fun to meet you in person, and any other John Dees members that might be around.

I'm thinking about loading up the sled (not vintage) and the wife, trailering over to the landing and jumping on the lake for a ride. Ride over to the show for a while, have some pork chops and whatch the races.

Looks like it's going to be nice day weather wise.

We'll be up there with the old John Deere and I agree, the pork chops are so good, can't wait.
It's only 2 miles from our house and I don't think we'll be riding the sleds up there this year.

Ezra, you never answered the question. I might actually be out there and would like to say Hi but I'm not sure how I would recognize you. Do you look like one of your dogs?

It's cool that Chaparral is the featured sled this year. Of all the stupid things I've done, my wife has never forgiven me for selling her 72 SSII (pictured).

Ezra, I didn't get to meet a posting legend but what a show!

This was my first trip and I can tell you that anyone who has even a passing interest in vintage sleds needs to attend this event. You can't hardly take a step without tripping over a vintage machine.

I couldn't believe how good some of these sleds sound. There was a guy there with a late 60's 488 Polaris Mustang pulling a cutter that would seem to be as milk-toast as they come...until he fired it up. It sounded like the top fuel round at the local strip.

The event is really well run and parking was a breeze (even with no lake parking).

The ice drags were awesome - these sleds are flying at the finish line! In the heats I watched, the Snow-Twisters were winning a lot of races.

And yes, I had a pork chop. Only had to growl at a couple of people that came a little close while I was eating it.
