Pretty bummed that I won't be able to make it, haven't missed it since 2010. Definitely the mother of all vintage events. Had a couple of swap items I wanted to look for this year too. Hopefully I'll be back next year.

Had I been able to go, the John Deere Cyclone (Old Reliable) would have probably gotten the call again as my Waconia rider.

GTL, I assume you'll be there so enjoy and have a pork chop for me.

I would have loved to bring the 69 Ski Doo 12/3 over but with my new lifestyle of full time RVing, it's not in the cards. When we were home for Xmas, I made the decision to donate on loan the old girl to the Eagle River Snowmobile Museum. Dropped it off with a photo album of the restoration. It makes me feel good that now other people can enjoy seeing it along with the other cool old sleds. I just couldn't see having it sit in my trailer when maybe it could bring back special memories to other snowmobilers like it did for me when I restored it. My wife thinks I'm kind of corny when I talk about the old sled, but I guess that's how I roll, lol!

Yes----I did go, both Sat. and Sun. And I had a porkchop both days!!!! (and a few in the bottle!!) HOLY Mother of___________ This place was rockin' on Sat. I really want to see the numbers from Sat. both in general admission and the ride. WOW the sleds just kept coming and coming, I'm guessing an easy 500 on the ride. The swap area once again covered the whole area (behind the pole shed etc.) I saw some great deals on a lot of things. The Yellow Fever Club was full of some really great looking Ski-Doos. Sun. vintage show was the best attended that I've seen ever. If you weren't able to be there, you missed a great one, weather and all.

it is actually a privet owned event . but they hire a lot of volunteers with pay going to there club . SWTrails also has pretty much all the same board members and a lot of needed cash is donated to what is needed for the trails . Midwest vintage owns the show.

Yep, figured as much. Every year I'm amazed at the size of this event. Hopefully next year.....

I went on Saturday on a last minute decision. A good friend who had actually found his old race sled on craigslist and bought it back was racing his machine and asked if I was coming. I used to do some pitwork when he ice dragged in the pro circuit 25 years ago. Too bad there was nothing for him to run in his class, IMP Stock 700. He did jump up and got cleaned by some Vmax 4's. He has a 1988 INDY 650 that had motor work done by Rich Felegy and had hand built Decker race pipes. In it's day it was fast and he took some 2nd and 3rd's in the World Series of drags but I see next year being trouble for him. This years cutoff was 1995. I guess they had trouble filling many classes but had tons of interest from owners of 1996-2002's. Next year it will go to 2002 and I see that old piston port engine (though it's strong) will have a tough time competing with the reed valve/power valve'd models that came a few years later.

Lots of cool sleds there as always though! This years feature sleds were Sno Jet/Kawasaki.
