Walworth County Snowmobiliers...please read

As our Vice President of the Walworth County Snowmobile Alliance, I am calling/urging snowmobiliers in the Walworth County area (Especially the East Troy area) to join a local club OR at least help put in and take out trails. Last Season the East Troy area lost a major corridor...then last minute regained some of it with help. Their club is desperate for younger snowmobiliers to take over their program. If not, the East Troy surrounding trails and club will no longer exist.

Please save negative posts/complaints...lets try to move forward to save our trail system, join in, and add suggestions!

East Troy Contact person: Bob Bower Jr. President 262-642-3796 robert936@centurytel.net or Ron Schmocker ronssr@earthlink.net 262-366-0673

*side note: Last season ET club sent out letters to all the registered sleds in their area (at that point in time) with no responses back to offer help or to join.
My hope is this will help get some volunteers this snow season.

Come on people Walworth County is a great place to ride in Southern WI & all trails lead to the Kettle for the Northwoods wooded twisty trail feel. You can hook up north to the Drumlin from there & ride a grade for 75 miles WFO & blast Lauderdale chain of lakes + Whitewater lake. There used to be plenty of help 10 years ago when I lived there & really not difficult to bang markers in farm fields. Please lend a hand & I know for a fact plenty of younger people ride that area on weekends. Please help!

Whitedust..thank you for the post. Our county has 4 groomers (one for each section nw, ne, se, sw) with well over 250 miles of trails stated. So, yes this county has a lot to offer. This is a major concern if we lose another club. No connection to other counties in that area.

Those reading this and in the East Troy and Walworth County area...please help!

Thanks to Hummertime's dedication to his local club membership is on the upswing and doing better than it has for years. Hence the reason he is now county VP. Please join a club so we can make our County alliance a model for other counties and so we can all continue to enjoy the trails in the aforementioned area.

So Hummertime sorry I suck at checking my JD in the off season. You are catching me on here now because I just learned of all these problems with the East Troy area trails this week. I just sent you a PM with some info and my willingness to help out. I just recently got in touch with Ron to see what I can go with my brother and a few of my buddies. I don't ride Walworth county all the time but when I do get to ride them it is great to ride right out the back door if conditions permit. Last year was a good year and half of the miles on my new sled were from Walworth county and surrounding. I am wiling to help out anyway I can. Check your PM.

On another note the Meetings for both East troy snowmobile clubs are at the Grist Mill in East Troy I believe the Snow Trojans whom are needing help are the second Thursday of every month and the Lake Beulah drift skippers are the second Tuesday of every month. Don't quote me on that but I am almost certain.

I'm working on getting a few guys together that are willing to help out in the East Troy area with the trails and the club activities. Anyone interested in helping me and the club out let me know.

As a former resident of the area and VP of the Lake Beulah club I am very sad, but not surprised to see this happening. It's happening in many areas of the state, not just Walworth Cty and it's going to get worse before it gets better. NO non-club member should b!tch about trails not open yet or anything of the sort. But they will.

I'm heading out at 7:30 AM tomorrow to work on trails.....what are you doing to help the trails get put in this year?
