Wanting to buy Polaris

This time of year a pocket full of cash talks more than someone one the phone... skip the sales reps at the door and go right to the managers offfice that’s how I roll ... plus I know some guys at those places.. it’s not what’s ya know it’s who ya know... cash talk b s walk.. I guess.. no dealer wants to store unsold units this time of year even if they lose 200 bucks or more.. try it sometime you will be amazed as to what deals can happen in spring..

FYI; the Doo money dried up as of March 31, 2019; rebates went from up to $2,019 on 850's to $500. It is literally cheaper to order a new 2020 than buy a leftover 19 Doo 850 and get 3 years of extra warranty.

In January I was looking for a 800 PRO RMK 163 with es and found an add on Craigslist for a new 2018 one in St Cloud at Mies Outland so I called and was told it was legit so I hooked up the trailer and headed over and the only snag was I had to pay the commi Minn. tax at 7.5 percent lol.
$9,650. Plus tax
You got ripped off I bought one in Mora MN. last year and paid o tax there , paid 6% when I got to Mi.

Maybe it is the tax reciprocation rules but last time I bought a car in MN (I am a WI resident) I paid the tax when I got home and registered it at WI DMV.

Your dealer operated an illegal deal then....or yur FOS.
MN law won't allow a sled sale without collecting their obscene liberal Dem sales tax.

You can then file a claim to get reimbursed by your home state when you register it there.

Thanks to everyone for the help. The search is over after talking to what seems like a thousand dealers and private sellers. Went with a new leftover Polaris Switchback 800 from Prime Powersports in Shawano Wi. Great people to work with very helpful and understanding with no hidden charges. And a great price in my eyes

Yup, the owner Chris is A+!
Great prices and super service, something a Poo and a Doo rider can agree on as he sells both.

Being from Peoria, IL, what do you know about "R-Equipment" out of Utica, IL?
They are advertising the best price on 2020 pre-order Doo's, I checked in with them and they sound legit.

R- Equip is a farm machinery dealer fuji. Not sure how long they have been into sleds. Doo lost a real good dealer just west of them a little way due to he could not sell the Can Am SxS as he could the Poo Rangers price being less. Started selling Poo sleds back in the 1960's, and didn't want to give up the Doo sleds, but that didn't work out for Doo. So, Doo may have went with R-Equip to fill the dealer void? Just a guess on my part. durphee may be in the know?

Nice info, guy named Ryan is $250 better than any guy I know on pre-orders. That is wow pricing, no doc fees or set-up bologna either.

I did stop at Houghton Powersports and called Pats, Powersports did not have a 163 Pro they did have a leftover 2017 155 with es which they wanted 7 hundo more than I paid for my 2018 163 and Pats had a 2019 163 without es that they wanted about 3 thou more for.

Every dealer I talked to in Illinois either didn't have what I was looking for or had unreal set up charges. I heard anywhere from 850 to 1200 dollars. By time I got to the out the door price it was 2000 to 2500 more in Illinois. So to answer the question my loyalty stops at 2,000 dollars

Have dealt with Ryan on farm equipment and he is legit and good to work with. Have bought multiple pieces of equipment sight unseen and had no problems. It is very annoying when R equipment can deliver it four hours north for thousands less then local, and if there is a problem they deal with it. Would I prefer to buy local yes, but we have to watch every cent if we want to make it. It's very annoying when you hear a local salesman brag about how much more he got in commission from one farmer vs another for the same piece of equipment. So yes we hunt around. Our 2011 arctic cat cfr's came from Country Cat. Our 2017 thundercats from Ken's Motorsports. Both were great to work with. I wish all dealerships were the same. Day's Powersports does all our service work, but sold out the sleds we wanted before we were ready to buy. Sometimes the local dealer just isn't competitive or with the fact that they own 8 stores (farm equipment) feels that you don't have a choice. I'm done with my rant for now.

I agree with all that WHPH! Seems you have to go somewhere not local to get treated right sometimes. I first, and always try to stay local, if they aren't will to be right with me, I move on. As that happens, the local is finished with the deal. As in they blew it! It's always their choice to blow it!

Sometimes even the best dealers blow it. Sad but true.
