Warm Gear?

Not sure this is the right heading to talk about this but I am wanting to find out what others know is the best warm gear. Heres the problem, wife cant handle the cold and cant get warm on the back of the sled. have tried all the Under Armor stuff. Wears what I would consider a quality Yammi jacket so Im thinking we are looking for good base layers.
She goes once a year, last year dressed her like the kid in Christmas Story and was cold before we got to the gas station 2 blocks away from the house.

Thanks

My wife has those old fashioned electric wool socks and swears by them. takes a big ole "D" battery ea.

Not all snowmobile clothing is the same, (duh) meaning that just because it is a fancy pants brand doesn't make it warm for all types of riding. example Klim Vector is a great trail riding Jacket but to warm for off trail riding etc. getting so one has to do a little homework before buying. Base layer her, then mid layer then an insulated Parka add in heated socks, Baklava/neckie, full face helmet and hot grips. could even toss in those 6 hour heat packs in the appropriate spots. If that don't work???? not sure.

Best way would be to have her own sled so she has to work through the corners. I don't know how anyone can stay warm on the back. I'd get cold and bored.

That explains it. I suspect she is more bored then cold. She may not be into it. can't blame her as a passenger. My wife actually admitted that she would rather hang out and make chilli and do crosswords while along to the cabin.

rent her a sled if only 1 time a yr she will be moving more and doing more than just sitting .
also when real real real cold and I am going to be sentenced to a day of trail riding I some times put shake up hand warmers in my inside pockets

I did a little rnd with both the Milwaukee and Bosch battery pack heated coats. I think they are both to hot. If you already own the 12v pack, look to spend 200$ on either coat.Fyi,doome2 is one of the best names on here.Freznbvr sp?is another great one.

X2 Have you ridden back there? I know I have & hated it very cold & BORING! Rent her a sled let her ride & she will be a lot happier & will not be cold.

Thanks for the replies. She won't ride by herself we own 3 sleds. Tried explaining the heated grip thing just to get her off my back. Lol. She only goes just to say she went and keep me from bugging her. Thanks again

I'd quit bugging her and leave her home! Why go through the aggravation when she seems to hate it? Then you pick out something you'd rather not do with her anymore (shopping etc) and you can both have some alone time. It's very good for both! ;)

Mrs Russholio here. Our daughter in law has a heated vest she wears when they go hunting. Maybe that would help?? I might not be much help here because I rode 2 up just 1 time and then asked for my own ride but here is what I wear because I do get cold occasionally.

I wear a turtleneck base layer then a fleece layer under my Coldwave coat. I wear a base layer and fleece layer under my bibs. I make sure that my boots aren't too tight so my toes can wiggle around as when one is too tightly dressed it's hard for the body to breathe and holds in the moisture and creates coldness.

OH...And my new sled has a heated seat which helps a lot!
