So do I, but is trail 2 to iron river rail grade?

Yes .... the loop to Kenton is about a 100 miles.

2 (grade) east to 15 (which is 8 miles west of IR),

15 north to 8.

8 (grade) west to Kenton eats/drinks. (or east to Sidnaw fuel/eats/drinks)

107 (worth enduring the monotony of the grade to get to it) south out of Kenton back to 2.

Sorry don't know current condtions....try msa website

15 is an awesome trail as well if there is enough snow.... not too busy because it is a long pull between pitstops.

My thinking is with a system storm or 2 that forecasted, it might get really good, we're staying at the casino, I just get tired of seeing and hearing about all the crappy trails near Gogebic, who knows, maybe it'll be better with less traffic due to more snow in hopefully more areas!

T-Bone. I too am interested in this section of trail. I'm in Florence and want to head east to Iron River to meet two other riders who I met on this site. We meet in Iron River and head north up 15 and eventually end up in L'Anse. If you end up going to IR and take 15 north can you report back and let us know how it was. I realize everything is going to change tomorrow with the weather but having an idea how things are now will help me a little. Thanks

If this storm pans out today / tonight . I would guess there will be some great riding the next few weeks that NE direction . I ride out of Conover / Lando in to the UP and like to go that way and head to L'anse then Big Bay and back on long day rides . Some great riding that way with few riders usually .

this ride was 1-20-18, rodelando to watersmeet to bond falls, was fair, and 3 north to 8, agate falls then 8 to sidnaw was GOOD! looked down 15 off of 8 and looked less traveled and very white so prolly wouldve been a good ride, 55 miles to iron river it said, ended up taking 107 back to 2 back to watersmeet bc i love 107 and that was alos in good shape. All those trails will be great after this recent snow fall.

This snow really helped that area. Rode 8 to Kenton, 107 to the grade, and 2 back up NW. All during the snow. Had the trails to ourselves. Pretty hard to put enough smilies down to describe the ride. Watersmeet did a smart move with their grooming too. They let the new snow fall and cover the rocks before going back out. Conditions are fantastic right now in that area. Watch for warm up temps. If not, the conditions will be good for awhile.
