I'd like to give a big THANK YOU shout out from the U.P. Thunder Riders to the people who stopped to help one of our groomer drivers remove a tree from the trail Wednesday night. Help like that is really appreciated!

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

The groomers have been taking too much flak lately. I take my hat off to those guys. Lately conditions for grooming have been tough. Little moisture in the snow, not much base to work with, & near peak traffic levels (even on a weekday).

If you don't already appreciate all they do for the sport, then riding the Western UP one of the last few/next few weekends should change your mind quickly. :)

Where did the tree come down? I was out Monday and also had to take about a 6" round pine out of the trail out west towards Presque Isle split, that snow from that night must have brought it down. I carry a fold up saw at all times never know when you will need it.

That was a pretty impressive move on the rider's part. We came on them as they were moving the tree. Not sure which groomer operator we encountered, but he had the saw running and still had the toothpick.

BTW Mrsrunningbear, the groomers did an awesome job down there. We put on over 900 miles in the U.P. this week and the Thunder Riders had the best trails. Nicely done!
