Weather here today (Tuesday) got to upper 30s, sun early high broken clouds later. Yesterday low 20s intermittent sun. 1st snowfall cheated areas east of HWY 49 east to the Wolf River. 2nd snow treated them fairly. That being said:
SE corner of Waushara & SW corner of Winnebago remained closed primarily due to Berlin Rived Riders issues.
The NW corner of Winnebago remained closed. Zone 3 (Poygan) closed today.
Waupaca remained closed & will until Jan due to several issues including standing corn & a Holiday hunt.
Northern Green Lake remaind closed.
Marquette remained closed & will until Jan 2nd due to late hunting.
Monday, I went east assuming weather would close Poygan today as it did. Trails from Saxeville to PoySippi are lots of woods & some hills. Condition GOOD. East of 49 & into Winnebago county are primarily flat, lots of farm fields. Condition FAIR to GOOD.
Went thru Omro & east to the Springbrook Tavern & back, 75 miles RT.
Today I went east to PoySippi then north thru town to the club trail and north towards Sawdust City but turned west just prior. Looped west then south towards Saxeville then SE towards Pine River. Trail thru Pine River was mostly bare. Then back west & towards Saxeville from the SE. Yes, this is the long way but I wanted to make the day longer. West towards Wild Rose then south to Mount Morris stopping at Trading Post then home. 62 miles, mostly GOOD, a small amount of FAIR.
IMO, Waushara trails need to be closed after today to preserve what we have. We are locked in all directions by closed counties except west (Adams & they are reporting FAIR). 2 day total 137 miles.
