I think I'm going to go with the X10 4 camera system for $299. I can view it over my phone. I just need internet access and I have to buy a PC for it.

I use the X-10 system http://www.x10.com/homepage.htm and also have Wild Blue Internet. I have 4 cameras and a variety of light switches linked to it. You need to have a cheap PC on sight to host the software and then link your home PC to the cabin via "PC anywhere" type access that allows you to pull up the desktop at the cabin. Wild Blue is slow so don't expect fast connections but I can move the cameras and get decent idea of what is happening. I had a weatherstation in the yard and it sent data to the cabin PC and I could see what was happening on the weather. A storm took it out and I have not replaced it. I put a large stick in the ground with marks to see how much snow is on the ground. I can turn on the lights and adjust the thermostat so it is warm when I arrive. The downside is the power supply. I get frequent power loss and so you need to have a way to remote reboot your PC. I can do this but I have no idea how my computer guy set it up. Hope this helps.

My concern is being able to reboot the PC. If you talk to your computer guy maybe see if he can give you an idea. That would be helpful.

You remote in and reboot the pc.... Why is that a question?
If you are worried about the pc starting back up ater power outages, there is a setting in the bios.

You called asking me for info, I have had a very busy week wrapping up last years books etc. Sorry I did not get back to you. I was not aware you were in such a hurry. Oh well.
