I'm wondering what is a safe weight for someone to ride a 2014 Polaris switchback 600 stock. My brother in law wants to go but he's about 300 pounds without gear?
300 pounders are hard on 1up sleds really need stiffer than stock springs. I had to say "no" when faced with same request told him to rent a 2up would not be fun bottoming out all the time & he understood.

Is this a Switchback Pro-R or S or Switchback Assault? My 14 RMK is basically the same suspension as the Assault, and it shows with suspension adjusted to max settings, it should handle up to 340 with stock springs. So as long as he's not cranking on it, it should be okay for a ride or two. If its the Pro-xc rear suspension I don't know.
it will be fine for average trail . now if u get in to some 2 ft rollers I would turn around go to the bar and sit tight till u see a groomer to follow home
Did you look for the "Fat Boy" Spring?
I am sure Polaris has one, well under $100, plus install. Likely in color choices
I bought one for my 2015 Axys, because I was nearing the upper range, there is a range overlap so it will likely work for you.
If you are brothers, what do you weigh?
Are you talking about a weekend trip or a week of hammering down, that sled will be fine (IMHO) for trail riding for a few days, now if your talking about off trial trying to catching air every chance than no.
