so there is the marines...the army...airforce...navy....and now they are starting a drone squad...and this is the one I want to see what ya'll think aboot it....a SPACE CORP....same as above only it will be an armed force for space....the drone corp has really cool uniforms IMO....and they are hiring...I know its more money at these hard times....we definitely need to adjust monies that's for sure....I think all athletes and CEOs should bear the brunt of adjustments....there is no need for them to make 200 million a year....reduce their pay and give to teachers for one...police...and responders...raise pay....and it could also cover these 2 new corps IMO...what say you?

I don't think it's a secret that we are currently fighting battles with drones. I have toured the facility at Camp Ripley and it has become a drone maintenance and training camp. They have training rooms to learn how to fly them and a four drone capacity maintenance hanger. It is the way of the future.

Tracker I am a bit shocked you are just picking up on the drone thing. They have been using drones for 15 years already. They fly them regularly up here to patrol the US / Canadian border. These particular drones are not armed but they can see EVERYTHING without being seen. The days of going home for a nooner out by my garden are over. They would see me and take embarassing pics and post them in bar bathrooms all over the county. I have a friend in the Marines stationed out of some base in AZ who told me they fly the drones in the middle east from bases in AZ.

If you aren't happy with the money your making, I would say change professions...How much is to much??? Why should athletes or CEO's have to take a pay cut, just asking...

Pro athletes don't make as much as a lot of people think. By the time they pay taxes and agent fees you can cut the advertised salary in half. And most of them are so stupid they can't handle the money and are broke just a few years after they cant play anymore. The smart ones hire somebody to handle their money for them and give them kind of an allowance. The guy that has handled my insurance for years also handles two pro hockey players of some distinction plus another famous snowmobiler you have all heard about. He is constantly complaining that they exceed their 'allowances'.

Yes, there — mainly drone operations along the US/Mexico border;
possibly also at (click →) MCAS Yuma,
but otherwise primarily at (click →) Creech AFB, NV.

See also:
From the Los Angeles Times, February 21, 2010:

And more:

Oh yes, and about this:

Some interesting perspective on drone operations:

From The Economist, June 23, 2014, (click →) "Dilbert at war — The stressful lives of the 'chair force' ”, quoted here in part:
… Being out of harm’s way makes the job less fretful in some respects, but more so in others. Whereas fighter pilots drop a bomb and fly away, drone pilots may spend weeks monitoring a village or convoy, sussing out patterns and getting to know their enemies. This odd intimacy makes the act of killing more personal, particularly as these pilots are forced to witness the fallout. Afterwards, instead of bonding with fellow servicemen at a base, drone warriors go home, where they must keep their daily exploits a secret.

Unsurprisingly, the air force has trouble attracting and keeping drone pilots, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), an official watchdog. In December 2013 it had only 85% of the number it needed, which puts pressure on serving pilots. Many complain of long hours (nearly 60% say they work more than 50 hours a week), long commutes, open-ended assignments and few opportunities for promotion. Some say they were trained to fly manned aircraft, but were shunted to the “chair force” with empty promises that it would be temporary. A typical air-force stint is three to four years; some drone pilots have been serving for over six. Morale is low and burnout, high. Many pilots worry that their job is the object of scorn. When the idea of medals for drone pilots was aired last year, a retired Green Beret huffed to the Washington Times: “I suppose now they will award Purple Hearts for carpal tunnel syndrome.”

For the Pentagon to meet its goal of at least 1,650 drone pilots by 2017, it will need to do a better job of keeping them content. The air force has already hired more psychiatrists and chaplains. The GAO suggests signing bonuses wouldn’t hurt, particularly as it costs only $65,000 to train a drone pilot, rather than the $557,000 needed to fly manned aircraft. …

you lost me when YOU decided how much is too much for CEO's. Let the market decide their salary and if they can get the big check good for them. I'm not making less because they have big paychecks.

so you don't mind paying in the future 65% of your paycheck for these new divisions.....while the guys making 200 million pays 10% if that....there needs to be an economic adjustment in our system...its not me...the gap is growing wider....if not addressed the workers will adjust it themselves....can you say French revolution? or will you be ok with just eating bread?
