An early banner start to the season has just turned into flat pattern with no relief really in sight, crossing fingers mother nature will toss us a bone here!

Depressing is a good word to use here. However I have been chasing good snow, winter, farther, and farther north, for 40 years. Just have to get used to it. Yeah, well, it sucks! We have had a good bit of snow down here so far. But never a good enough amount to ride due to it being gone in a few days, then get some more. The granddaughters Mini Z does need much, so that works out for her. Don't give up, THINK SNOW, eh!

The grandkids have been riding their 250s most everyday after school since that first snow two weeks ago. I put my bicycle GPS on one and tracked their travels. They put over 200 miles each last weekend riding the same two or three miles of homemade trails on our property. And they still haven't worn it down to bare ground. Heck its not even bumpy. Interestingly, when the trails opened for that 48 hours last weekend, they were down to bare ground in most places within hours. We must have magical snow on our property. ;)

Nice to see kids still riding, good story.

For those of you in the central and southern Midwest I hear you. But I will say the trails I rode this week were as good as I’ve ever seen. Yes they are in the U.P. But isn’t that where we are supposed to go when it’s thin down south? Mid week traffic was low to almost non-existent.

Well, the Ground Hog should buy us some time tomorrow. We're gonna need a good six weeks of winter locally to get any measurable riding in.

Ha, ha, I don't think there is anything magical with your snow? Not too many 250's running on those trails you speak of, eh? More power, more speed, less snow duration!

Winner, winner chicken dinner. ;)

But they used to tear stuff up and trench the fields, but our grand kids learned early on that they'd be helping change their own wear bars and rivet on their own hyfax. Now I see them take a shovel out to fill in bare spots. I haven't needed to buy replacement wear parts in years. But they more then make up for it in ga$ and oil. ;)
They also know if they tear up gramma's lawn, plants, etc, they'll be replanting in the spring. Too bad we cant get everyone to clean up the messes that some leave on the trails. :rolleyes2:

Wausaw station showed Oct and Nov both well below avg. temps ...Dec and Jan above. Maybe Feb will reverse the pattern yet again. Shoveled 6" of week old snow to get in the Nort-woods shack yesterday.

My experience is if the Green Bay trails are not open by Super Bowl Sunday, they will not open for the year.
Last year, rode from my home in G.B. to Eagle River, WI 3 times after Feb 1, 2019.
Sold my sled 2 days ago.
Punxy says early spring.

I knew when Oct/Nov was so cold and wet that we were screwed for the winter. Dec/Jan warm and dry! Let's hope Feb/Mar get back to cold and wet!
