What Is Fun On Snowmobiles?

Thank God for the 50mph speed limit in MN, the fast riders go 50 and the slow riders go 45, everybody is happy

more and more I think my snowmobile pleasure comes from reading about them and dusting it off. I wish I could gripe about other riding styles and attitudes. Some times I wish I was up there just to piss some people off.

Yes really!! I'm there!
Where do I sign up for 50mph Wisconsin speed limits. Let us lay claim to the family snowmobile destination. Michigan can have the racers.

The bottom line is we ALL need to be more tolerant of each other (not just on the trails but life in general). What's the number one reason most folks ride sleds? I would say fun factor and creating memories with friends and family have to top the list. Fun can have different meanings to different people. Some think screaming along a like at 100 mph is a rush (it actually is). Others prefer to take in all that nature has to offer and prefer to ride at a slower pace. I enjoy that too. All depends on my mood and who I'm riding with. The point is whether I'm screaming across a frozen lake, carving up the twistys, or riding at a casual pace, I never put anybody else in harms way, and will always let faster riders pass. As was mentioned before, everybody has different skill levels, and we all learned to ride at some point. I'd much rather follow somebody for a few miles and pass when safe than to push them out of their comfort zone and see them wrap around a tree. Everything that has been posted so far simply comes down to common sense. Unfortunately, many folks are missing that gene. Ride defensively, share the trail, be respectful and courteous, create memories to last a lifetime and most of all HAVE FUN!! Life is to short to get wound up about the little stuff.

I like to text and check my Book of Faces account while riding. Only on the trails and I use proper hand signals at the same time. :)

Amen, again and again.

If you notice it is the same few people that stir the pot on this site. Every controversy on every post has the usual suspects. I appreciate the site for the connection to the sport and news about WI an UP sledding -where I travel 8 hours to ride. I sift through a lot of junk to get useful information. Many of my friends just don't use the site anymore for that reason. However, I did get the scoop on the Watersmeet Casino closing on here right before our club was headed there and was able to get other lodging for everyone.
I appreciate your post and agree with you for what it is worth. I am going to try to post more and contribute good information and try to stay positive.

How exactly does this post contribute to the site?
You think your posts give you the history? Or you just like trolling??

 Welcome to the site, Wild Pony. your opinion is a valued contribution to the site. Most of these sledder sites have lurkers but what makes them work are contributors....could be a trail report, insight on new sleds, your latest trip...don't matter. A site is only as good as it's posters.

Welcome Wild Pony. Don't let some of the others change your opinion of this site, the creator of the site or the people who are on here contributing in a positive way. I have met people here on JD and even have some friends now because of it. Glad to welcome you in

i wasnt trying to be negative or confrontational..wd started a legit thread..and his complaint is that all the screwing around by longtime posters is somehow driving him and his friends away after 2 posts..so sorry but i disagree..if he didnt like it he could have said something before on some of the nastier threads..but this thread had only a little negative bashing(only between sb and gd) and instead of contributing..decided it was his time to point it out..

and when do i cause controversy..pretty rare..

Thanks for the welcome. I have had another identity on JohnDee for years but it was compromised. 2 posts
in 2 months may not seem like a lot - quality over quantity. I have a ride coming up in Northern WI and I will post about the trails and conditions. Every bit of information helps in the late season with these conditions!

I took it as you were trying to be confrontational, and wild pony not having enough posts to complain about the pot stirring. Along with the shot about his buds leaving. I took that as negativity.
Apparently I was wrong? My bad
