Fr NASH....on that link you provided...Jacob Emerick's Blog....he tells a tale of a lone snowmobile on dangerous ice even for a human walking....I can tell that that track went 26 miles off shore on THE MOST TREACHEROUS ice floes ever imagined...upheavals...crevasses...open water holes....uneven ice and scads of danger at every inch.....26 miles out onto lake superior towards Canada with the thought of making the first ever crossing on a snowmobile directly across from black rock....alas...twas not to be as totally open water was encountered 26 miles out to sea...read what he says aboot that lone snowmobilier and his difficulties in hiking the shore that day....now times that by 20 on a sled.....LOL....the tumbles were witnessed first hand

PS....that HMWS sancutaury....it holds rare animals and terrain they live in....some fish....and some as yet unknown and discovered animals....but we wont go there in this thread....lol

these giggle spots...can they be brought on only naturally without regret? Shirley if some outside influence is used to create them, then their spectacle is diminished within the impending hangover and withdrawal.

Define "Canada".
I presume we're not talking about the "international boundary" in mid lake, but rather some landfall. Would any old Canadian Island do, or do we need to reach the mainland?

"Canada is also the same distance straight ahead… "

Yes indeedy! Interesting observations:

1. If you you mean due east from Black Rock Cape to ≈ Sandy Islands Provincial Park vs. due north to ≈ St. Ignace Island, in which case yes, almost exactly 145 miles each way.

2. If you you mean due east from Black Rock Cape to the mainland at ≈ Harmony Beach, Ontario vs. due north to the mainland at ≈ Gravel River Resort on the Trans-Canada Highway, then approximately 10 miles further each way.

Note that on the northbound route, at ≈ 40 miles due north of Black Rock Cape, you would encounter the tip o' the Keweenaw somewhere between Schlatter Lake and the Keweenaw Rocket Range, long before you hit any part of Canada, and on the eastbound route you would pass within 6 miles of Whitefish Point, MI.

(Yeah, I'm a geography junkie.)

Just for the record, Canada (landfall) is due South of where I live in Meechigan. Facing East that would be to the right.

if youse 2 augsberger guys...that's politically correct for retarded....was standing on that black rock cape...click here.....https://www.google.com/maps/@46.8505579,-87.7337082,16z....and your looking straight out at the lake...which direction would youse 2 be facing? which side would Canada be on....and we all realize that it is also at 45 degrees to Canada....but the main country....which direction would you be facing...keep in mind that the cape is on the right side of a peninsula running north and south and you would be staring out into the water towards where? lets all see if they can figure this out.....I say no
