For my 2012 Apex XTX:
1. Agressive Snowtrackers
2. 8" Bergstrom Triple Points with Ski Savers
3. Studboy Duece Bars

My favorite (and only) carbide set up I have had on this sled is 6" Bergstrom Triple Points with Ski Savers and ski shims. I also run the stock 4" carbides on the outside of the skis. I have loved this setup for on and off trail.

What are the thoughts on picking the outside of the track? I thought more tear outs?

Not enough studs and spinning a lot cause tear-outs. Lots of folks just stud the center band to have a little more overall control and some icy trail capability. If you really want to nail the sled down and ride aggressively stud the outside also.

Apex SE: Snowtrackers have been by far the best I have used, this is my third Apex too!

Yep I'm surprised more people don't use them. Bergstrom triple points a step up but snowtrackers....WOW!!! Only carbide system that wants you to reduce ski pressure or will oversteer. Talk about on rails these things are unreal!

'14 Viper XTX.......didn't like stock skis so bought 7" Slydog Powderhounds.......with std. shaper bars were O.K. but still pushed more than I liked.......won a set of Curve XS skis and put them on with Slim Jim Doolies.....damn near perfect for the riding I do........maybe 60/40 off vs on trail......plenty aggressive on trail and really good flotation off....YMMV
