what might this RV be worth?

A friend of mine here in da UP owns this RV which he recently received as a payment for some stuff. My buddy is looking to get rid of it and uncertain what it may be worth and asked if I was interested. I was kinda interested in an RV but cash flow seems to be a problem for me and has been for a while.

This RV is a 85 model year Winnebago. It has a 454 which was replaced just 2 years ago. RC does run smooth and goes down the road pretty good I am told. The previous owner said everything was working in it as of 2 years back but it has been sitting. Recently it was driven 15 miles to it's current location. I was gonna fire it up but no battery in it right now but I can take one down there and fire it up to see how it sounds and runs.

Anybody here familiar RV's and have an idea what is a reasonable price for something like this? I am looking to possibly sell it for the owner so if someone is looking for a RV here is a opportunity of some sort. Thrown a number out there, cannot hurt

Looks like a possible water leak in the bathroom.
Put a battery in it and test it out.
Let me know what does and doesn't work.
I may be interested but it's not worth much. Max probably $3,000-$3,500.

OMG the interior looks just like my parents kitchen and family room way back in 1984. Thank goodness it doesn't look that now.

Just so happens I seen the owner tonight and asked some questions. They said it drove real good but they didn't try to run anything in there. I'm going over there in the morning with a charged battery to see how it runs. I will try an start the generator and see what works and what doesn't.

Dave, I think you are right in the ball park, maybe could even get a better deal for you. I'll post my findings tomorrow late afternoon/evening

So, I drove the RV today and it rides real good. Plenty of power for a huge rig. After I ran it for a half hr it started as good as a typical car, just turn the key and she's running. I wasn't able to get the generator running but i did get it to fire, it's not getting fuel. I called a buddy who has a class A RV and first question he asked was, how much fuel in the tank and I told him just under a quarter and he said on his rid the generator pickup is placed higher up in the fuel tank so you don't run your RV dry and cannot drive it so very good chance the Onan generator is not getting fuel because the gas tank is to low. Looks like tomorrow I will take my construction generator which can run 220 and see if the roof air works.

I don't care about the generator. I just want see if everything else works.
I don't mind a project that needs mostly cosmetic work/updates.

everything runs off the generator or it's gotta be plugged in 220

Lenny,
The sticker in the back window makes it priceless
But with that said, I have friends down in Forest City Iowa where they were built. We used to take one of the current model year demo units every year on our winter Skydiving vacations to Arizona back from 84-90. This unit sold new for $41K, it was not the top of the line, but served its purpose. Gas mileage is going to be about 8 mpg, and it does have high miles for longevity of that motor. Current value if in tip top shape about $6K, from the pictures you show, it is not tip top shape. 2,700 is a fair price knowing that you would have to research the source of the water on the toilet lid, and generator if that was desired. The water leak could be as simple as that window above leaks, or could be water entering from as far away as the front of the motor home running down through the ceiling to the lowest point in which it pools and leaks down. Sometimes what looks simple, can lead to major task to find a water leak in any camper / motor home.
Best of luck, personally, it would not be worth anything to me, because of the looks, and design is so out dated, and reminds me of all of the broke down Elandons I have seen on the road to Sturgis over the years.

Thanks for your post, exactly what I wanted to know. I did check out the leak and it is coming through the window in the roof

I like the "petey" on the door, everyone knows that Petey didn't even have a head!

look around for the 30amp to 15amp plug adapter and plug it in. Can buy one at any campground/camping store.

If he plugs it into a 220, he will wreck everything in there. Different plugs anyway. It should be a 30 amp plug for that thing.

You only need 220 for the air.
110 will run everything else. That's where the adapter comes into play. I've had mine plugged in the way for years. Just never ran the air.
