What To Do When Deer Appear On Trail At High Speed?

If your my friend Tyler, you hit it at 70 mph, it hits you in the chest, almost knocks your head off and its hoof leaves a welt the size of an orange on your thigh.

Had a deer cross the trail between me and the person in front of me a few years ago. Definately was nervous. Always on the lookout for them if i see one along the trail.

I hit one christmas eve in indian river on the railroad trail. I hit the brakes hard which ended putting me sideways and tipping the sled. Wild experience for sure. Only damage to the sled was a cracked bumper, sore shoulder for me. Not sure if I would have done anything different, just no time to react when your cruising at 60-70 mph and one jumps out.

I hit one too. Thought she was dead and then she came back to life and ran away.

I hit one going about 40-50mph. I hit the deer broadside and my reaction was to hit the brakes and lay down on my seat and let the deer go over the top of me.

Deer crossing trails?

Deer should obey all deer crossing signs. If they complied there would be no issue here.

then pull over and clean out your shorts.I have a helmet with a hoof mark on it

I thought I hit a tree branch with my helmet at night. Guy behind me asked me later how freak was I at the close call with the deer. WHAT? Helmet had few hairs and a scrape mark. Now I knew why
my head jerk more to the side instead of strait back.

I've had several close calls this year. Pray you miss it, and then get the toilet paper out.
