Ever since i've been little i've always had a full face helmet. I've considered getting a sno-cross helmet but i'm worried about getting cold.

the only reason i switched to sno cross is because of the shield fogging up, i know i could hook up a heated shield but the sno cross helmet with a facemask is warm enough for me

I have both modular and snowcross. I use both for different reasons. I prefer the modular when temps are below 15 degrees or if I am just going to be trail riding. I find with the snowcross, I stay plenty warm with a Klim Balaklava when temps are warmer. I prefer it when the temps start to drive up in the spring or we are boondocking and I am working up a sweat.

Give a snowcross helmet a try. You just might like it!

I have had 2 full faced helmets for several years and always had fogging problems. I tried everything, but nothing helped. I bought a modular and wish I would have it from the start! I have never fogged up and its great in all weather conditions.

TXi

After many years (20) and many helmets later, the TXi by Arctic Cat is by far my favorite. Our family uses 4 of them. And only 1 Cat sled.. LOL

My helmet priorities are no sheild fogging, and how warm is a helmet. This helmet is great at both, its warm (not drafty) and hardly every fogs. I have a heated sheild on it but seldom need to plug in because its got a great seal around your eyes to keep your breath away from the sheild.

I have tried the modular Doo helmets, and they do work but they are to fiddly, to many moving parts, to much to go wrong, and far far more expensive than the $180 price for a TXi. But besides that I would still use a TXi if the prices were reversed.

Goggle question....If I do buy a sno-cross helmet, does anybody recommend goggles with the attached nose piece? Or just regular goggles?

Snocross for mild weather and full face when it gets colder. It all depends on what the forcast will be. Klim balakava with the snocross and Scott goggles with the nose piece works for me.

definetly like the sno cross alot more i have both but rarely wear my full face, i stay plenty warm with the sno cross and as far as nose pieces some sno cross helmets come with the nose pieces yet so a regular pair of goggles is fine, if there is no nose piece it all depends on what kind of riding you will be doing i think

Depends on type of riding I am doing and how warm it is outside. Own them all. Skidoo modular is my favorite for versitility and warmth.

helmets

Modular works great!! I've had two made by Ski-doo. Just have to change out the screen now and then. Hey Dolph, take your helmet off and do some work for me at our house!!! By the way, even if we get big snows, are trails will not be opened till crops are done.

jakester, I have been waiting for your phone call. Looks like I may be plowing soon, so now you may have to wait.
