What year did you sign-up on the John's Site?

After reading the post about old members, I was wondering out of all of us left when did you sign-up to the site?

For me it was Jan. of 2000

Friend of mine bought a sled and said we had to go up north! He gave me John's website and I started checking it out. Went on at trip that January to Cadillac and rented a sled. In Oct I bought a used 2000 Ski-Doo MXZ 700 Black edition. I think I have only missed one year in 2019/2020 when I had back surgery...

2007. Rode 3000 miles that year on my 99 Indy 500, started out using the tech talk section a lot because I needed help wrenching on sleds. My dad stumbled upon the site for the cams, which I liked to look at as a kid, and then realized there was a discussion forum with a bunch of hooligans on there, that could possibly help me!

2002ish, if I remember correctly. Got married that year and we bought our 1st computer. Joined shortly thereafter. AOL dial-up internet, good times.

I wish I could remember what year the site was launched, it was either late 98 or early 99 (I think). Either way that's when I became a member of the site. I did miss a good chunk of time from around 2008 to 2015, my boys were into wrestling and that being a winter sport made it hard to get away.

I was on my 98 SRX so I'm going to guess around 99-00. A buddy told me about John's site and I've been here ever since.

I know we met on JD and first time we rode from my house in Phelps and you were on 2011 red Apex XL with eps maiden voyage. I had to be on my black 2007 Apex ec mono 136. Later on I introduced you to Ken ,venture north ,and we have been riding together ever since then you sold your Venture 2up to Ken. Recently we recruited Euphoric and goofyjim all good buddies now because of this website.

I'm almost sure it was the last millennium. For sure 2001 as I remember I was in a college program with a laptop and anxiously awaiting the forecast each morning. The Pol-cat stands out; I remember him talking about getting that set up.

A couple months after John started the site. 96, 97, 98? I should look for my medical records when I had to start getting treatments for carpel tunnel (I was clicking over here all day long to get the latest reports).

Found John from Pasty Central. Kind of dropped looking at Pasty Central when they no longer had the pro photographer that provided stunning UP daily pictures.

Been around since the beginning, ever since John was only doing his journal. I am pretty sure it became a forum in 1999, at least that when I am pretty sure I became a member. Been the only social media for me since.

Anybody remember anomalous posting? Most were on dial up but topics were devoured like steak to a starving man. The Wild West back then but John stayed on top of it. That was a lot of fun my first introduction to social media and discussion boards.
