What's going on with the BFH?

You can barely make it up now :)

If I remember correctly you did roll your old sled down it.

I am sure there will be flags that you will have to go around.

I went up it over a dozen times (on my M6) and rolled down it the last time. LOL. I haven't tried since and have no real desire to. I think I remember you almost not making it. I was the dumb one who decided to do it a second time that day.

BFH Rule - Don't go up it more than once a day on a mountain sled.

That hill is not even remotley challenging on newer iron. It was a challange on my '74 scorpion stinger. If they are planning a hill climb there, I hope they pick a course up through the trees! Thats where the fun is.

I was just reflecting on my previous post and thought , how cool would it be to have a vintage sled hill climb. The new technology has made it so easy, we can scale mountains in bottomless powder. Does anyone remember when 2 or 3 feet of powder was extreamly difficult to ride in? It could be done, but was a lot more work than it is today, and if you covered 20 miles through the bush in an entire day you came home sore and tired! I think it would be fun to watch a bunch of vintage rides scraching and clawing there way to the top of that hill. Heck I am even thinking about getin the old TNT sitting on the side of my garrage going ,just to give it a try!! Ya think a '75 340 would make it to the top??

snoluver, funny you should bring this up. A buddy and I were discussing a big storm we had back in 1990 or 91, something like 17" fell. I had an 88 Cougar, not vintage I know, but sure seems like a long tome ago to me, at the time, and I bet ya I got stuck 15 times, in a flat bean field, in the first 100 yards. LOL. Good times for sure.

I hear ya Skylar! The nice thing though was ( at least on the really old ones) when you burried them every ten feet, you could just pick em up and throw em over, practicaly with one hand. lol!!

I remember this hill hosting mid-summer motorcycle hill climbs back in the day. I went to see one with my dad, probably early '80s. Anyone recall the history on that? How many years this was done? I don't think this event happened anymore by the late '80s.

I am the one putting on the Whealkate Bluff Winternationals. I have not been able to log on since the first post on this thread, so I re-registered. The Hillclimb will be Sat Jan 16th and if need be, we will also run on Sunday, the 17th.

Those that have taken in our MASTERS Circuit hillcimb at Copper Peak know that we put gates up. If some of you think this is a 'bunny hill,' then enter the Pro Stock or Pro Mod Classes. Let's see how good you are. Pro Stock King of the Hill and Pro Mod King of the Hill each win's $1000.00. This is in addition to winning money for taking a first in your class.

If you don't want to go around the gates and compete with the Pro's you can enter the Sport Division 'straight-up-the hill' Trophy Class.

We're doing the construction on the road, parking, and pit area this week. We're going to be putting up fencing to also prevent people from going up the hill.

On Jan 18th, you can do what you want on the hill as far as I'm concerned. However just so everyone knows, this is PRIVATE Property.

The King of the Hills will automatically qualify for the World Championship, along with select winners in the Pro Stock and Pro Mod Classes.

If you want a driver Pre-Registration form, PM me.

I neglected to mention that due to construction on the hill at Copper Peak, we will not have a Hillclimb at Copper Peak this year.

People sure have not been staying off the hill. I could see it was all tore up and down to dirt in a log of places after this last weekend. Apparetnly the caution tape didnt tip anyone off.

I've climbed that hill a ton but never on a mtn sled...I remember trying to go up the left side to make it more challenging..We would also run through the woods a tad..I've seen quite the number of people slide/flip down and I agree the hill can be icy..It is a bugger only if you don't make it because there is no bail area...The last sled I climbed it on was a 1995 Yammy Vmax 600..
