I have a 98 zr 600 efi with 2300 miles on it, picked track, adjustable fox shocks on skis and track , green top and bottom has limited edition bar cover on it. Is it a limited edition? was tolded by a guy looking at it to buy it that it isn't , that they were purple anything that you might know would help and a guess on value. thanks

I have know idea if it is a limited additon or not but a 12 year old, nice sled, with 2,300 miles is worth $2,000 now and $1,500 in March if that helps, jmo.

I would check Kelly Blue Book (they have sled info) and NADA guides although to me their prices seem to be on the low side, especially kbb. I would also take a look thru the "sleds for sale" portion here. $2000 seems a little on the high side but if its a limited edition that might affect it. Also the miles are really low for a sled of that age so that helps. I recently sold both of our sleds by basing my prices on those three things. We got what we wanted from them. Of course, now is the time to sell. Waiting for Spring will lower your price a lot. Good luck!

Not to scare you but my buddy bought the same sled out of season with 1800 miles 2 years ago for $2,200. First ride she blew!! Check it out good.

I have been watching the auction prices this year and am pretty surprised how high used stuff is going for...and then I get my snow goer or one of those mags and there is an artical in there on the very same subject, how good used clean sleds are going for premium price. I would say I am in the same boat as far as what the others recomend but with the way I have been seeing things sell I think I would ask a little higher and see if someone bites...you can always come down.

Pete, I just checked the NADA value on that sled, the low end is $1210, the Ave retail is $1590. I would think you should be able to get $1500 without much hassle as long as it is real clean inside & out & everything works, no tears in the seat, track etc... I don't remember for sure right off, but, I don't believe they made a "Limited Edition" in '98, I will have to check out some of the material I have on hand. I will say this, if they did, the only real difference in the LE would be the shocks, though the ZR always had Fox shocks, the clickers in that year would be the only real difference. IMO, with it being a '98, that would not have any change in it's present value.-Mezz

Put it on Craigslist for a high price. There's snow on the ground, trails are open, and people want sleds. I just sold a sled yesterday for a higher than I would pay price. And I had a BUNCH of people calling wanting to look at it. Second guy that looked at it bought.

In fact I sold it for $1200 less than what I paid for it, and I bought in new and owned it 6 years.

Pete, I found some time last night in between changing out the home computer system to look for some info on the '98 ZR. In all of the literature I have, there was no LE shown, just carbed & EFI. I believe that the individual referred to in an earlier post was mistaken with the Limited Edition color options which were available in 2000 (Millenium Edition) selds.-Mezz
