Whats the minimum size trailer to fit 3 longtrack sleds

Well I just sold my 4 place that was a deckover side by side and looking to get into a new Legend trailer. I am looking to fit 3 154" track mountain sleds in it. My experience says I have to go with a 7x23 (overall length w/ "v" nose is 25' 6") but would love to be able to get them into a 7x19 (overall length 21' 9"). I'm fully aware of stacking sleds into a trailer however you can to make them fit but will 3 154's fit into a 7x19, anyone tried? I ride Ski-doo's but need to haul all brands. Any help is appreciated.

I'm thinking not. Reason why is that I have a 7x 16 with 4' nose and can only get 2 136's and 1 121 in it. Hope you get things figures out. I did read on another forum to back them in or pull in from front to get more usable space.

I find that stacking sleds in a trailer works best by front loading and using the V for the rear end of the last sled. I have gotten 5 in a 4 place trailer by running 2 in forward, 1 in backwards in between the 2 front sleds, then last 2 in backwards. This gives the middle sled facing rear room since all the other sleds seats (narrowest ends)are in the middle. 2 forward 3 backwards. Done that in a 24'x8' trailer with 3 sleds being 144" and 2 being 121". shorty in the middle.

I'm with G-eich. I have an 3 plc R & R 16 X 7 ( 21 with the nose ). It fits 3 shorties comfortable but the last sled with the rear of the nose is a snug fit. Especially if you dont want your skis from the sleds tucked under the running boards of others. ( Thus distorting them). Even if you were extremely clever and designed a " quick release " ski bolt so you could remove the ski's and gain extra room, I still don't see 3 " longs " sardining it in there.
I have gotten 2 shorties and 1 long in it before. AND 1/2 of the " man-cave " when I go on trips . Can't seem to travel light.

Ask Firecatguy what Robbie's trailer is. That fit three long tracks just fine. I didn't see how they threw in the machines but it got 'em from MN just fine. One 153" and two 162" I think...

Thanks for the reply's guys!! Looks like its the 7x23 for me, was just trying to get as small as possible to make easy to tow with different tow vehicle's and its a long haul from Indiana to the Keweenaw or out west. I have a buddy with a 7x27 and we got 5 in that thing one time. Well if there's one at the Snow Show I'll probably get it there if not I've got one picked out from Beck's Trailers in St. Johns, Mich. Pat, I'll check out that trailer place you recommended too. Does anyone have any good, bad or ugly stuff to say about the Legend "Thunder" line of trailers, thats what I will probably get.

What's the worry about the legth of the trailer? If it's a Legend it won't matter if it's 19 or a 24 footer, it will pull with the same ease. We have a Legend 7 X 24 Trackmaster (Pez, sorry I was wrong it's a 24 footer) and I would almost guarentee you can fit 3 long tracks in. We put two 132 Polaris Touring sleds and 136 Cat Crossfire in ours and there's a butt load of room left over.

Don't know anything about the thunder line, , all I could say is if Legend uses the same big azz extrusions around the front and rear doors and such and build the frames the same as they do on the Trackmaster series I'd say run with it. Looks like the Thunder series has leaf spring rather than torsion spring axels, , ,do your self a favor and undercoat the leaf springs and axels with a wax like undercoating to keep the springs working real nice like. Amsoil MP HD is an awsome product for stuff like this, it sprays on liquid but then dries to a flexible wax like finish, I undercoat my trucks, trailers etc with it. They advertise it mainly as a chain lube but they also recommend it for undercoating.

Ya the spring thing is a concern of mine... I can upgrade to torsion axle's and I think that my plan. I know Legend Trailers have always been a good brand so I am sure its a good model.
Also back to the length thing its an issue of space in the driveway, I have 2 boats and a corvette under cover in the driveway already and I'm running out of space.

I have a 7x23 legend an there is plenty of room for three long tracks (162, 153, 151). The length of the first two you load really doesn't matter as you stagger them and they never really get nose to tail. I have had three long tracks in a 7x14 box with 5' v nose but had to remove skis on one. Probably could make a 16' box work if the extra couple feet would make a difference in your driveway. What might make the difference is ski stance. With a staggered inline, the wider the ski stance the more room they take up. The second and third sleds have to sit back further to avoid skis into running boards, etc. I ride cats and they have 39-41 adjustable stance, I think your skidoos have a wider ski stance and could make it tight in a 16 foot box.

On another note, I saw your post about riding partners, and I live in Ohio. My schedule is not as flexible as I assume yours is but have a three day weekend almost every week. Where do you ride when you go north rather than west?

Firecatguy, I see you get (4) long tracks in the 7X27. If you were buying a new trailer today would you still get the 27" or the 29"? The reason I ask is a legend sales rep told me I needed to get the 29" for (4) long tracks.

Also, when you say "we drive in from back and swing the last sleds tail into the Vfront". Do you mean you drive in from the front of the trailer? By the V Nose? Just trying to picture how you load the trailer.
