you make the team today or what?

no cuz i don't play any other positions than pitcher. kinda glad now i got tons of time on my hands. they said first day of practice that "if u pitch and don't play any other positions than that you probably won't make this team" and well that's what happened to me. But then what got me all confused is i can hit compared to the other 15 kids that made it and can't hit the ball out of the infield. o well. I've never been cut from a team before (i've played on all star teams and whatnot) and now i go to a different town for school and if your last name isn't the one they want ur not makin it. when the other kids found out i didnt make it all they said was "WHAT THE F**K" lol

dang.....thats a bummer you'd think they'd want a hitter....oh well more time for sleds...:)

yup! today instead of having to go to practice i'm going to dimple die my running boards, put up an overhead light for my toolbox, i started organizing nuts and bolts for my toolbox and i'm going to maybe put the hood locks on my sled

Haha........I played for a summer league team. I have the best batting average and the most doubles on the team. I feel like sending the stats to the high school coaches. Best part is, tonight, we were in a playoff game. We won 8-6, i hit a 350 ft. bomb for a 3 run double. I wish they would've moved the fence in 10 more feet! last week, i hit 2 doubles against this same team off the fence, both were over 300 ft. I'm making this sound like a fairytale story now. I guess i'm just ranting on about my frustrations and how i never got to play this spring.

Recently deceased Captain Phil Harris in his younger years went back to his home town with a bunch of earned fishing money visited his high school guidance counselor who said" Phil you will never amount to anything" & Phil took out fistfuls of money & said I who amounted to nothing want to purchase your house. lol :) Mistakes are made. Keep playing ball especially your hitting & in time coach will need an RBI guy. I wasn't a pitcher but I could play any position except catcher & played a lot of games. If you can pitch you can play the outfield too. Think about it.

I don't know much if anything about youth/highschool baseball all my knowledge is in girls soccer down here in Illinois. I have 2 high school aged daughters who do not play for their high school but play club soccer year round. My oldest is now looking at colleges and there are quite a few who are interested in her coming to their school to play in college. They range from NAIA to Division I.

It's not the end of the world if you don't play high school ball all you need to do is market yourself to the colleges you may want to play for. Throw together a player profile and send them out to the coaches, depending on your age/grade they can not contact/talk to you until Sept 1st of your Junior year so don't get down if you don't hear from anyone just keep plugging away. Invite coaches to come see you play, Video some of your games and even practices to send out, its all about marketing, grades and how well rounded you are. The more things you get involved in outside and inside of school plays a BIG role as well.

Good Luck
