What's your favorite sled of all time and why?

98 XC 600 for me as well. Sled just launches out of corners, tons of low end. Tops out with me on it around 100mph (plenty fast for me). Still own it as a backup.

94 EXT with efi. first new machine which might have something to do with it. was a blast to ride, started right up (as long as the battery was good and fully charged or else it wouldn't run at all), and always seemed like it was built just for me, which being a spring order, I guess it was. have liked all machines I have had since then, but not like that one.

I had the 96 570 Cougar with battery EFI. I loved it at the time and thought the "ETT" (Extra travel tunnel) was sweet as they cut out some of the tunnel just to add more travel.

2000 Arctic Cat ZRT 600. That sled would rock. Had it over 100 several times. Rode it all over the UP and Canada. Never had a problem with it. Bought the wife the same sled the same year. Both we're great running no problem sleds.

Getting to know my 2016 ZR 6000 got it in January. Not many miles this past winter.

I always wanted a triple/triple back in the day and decided to buy a used ZRT, twice; each one had a bad crank bearing within 500 miles of me buying and I finally gave up. Fixing the bearing was more than if I just scrapped the sled. I finally rode a new Polaris 600 triple with single exhaust and it was a dog so I passed. This was what finally moved me into the twin revolution and I have never looked back.

Scorpion 440 Whip as it was one of my 1st rides and had a blast on it.

Then I would say anything from the 90's with a 670 H.O. motor. The sound and torque of that motor was hard to beat.

You must be confusing the Cougar with another sled in the fleet. In 1994 the Cougar was a 440, 1995 was the first intro Cougar with the 550 which was a carbureted twin. They remained as such until 1999. The 570 was a fan cooled carbureted twin & was in "Z" series lineup which did not appear until 2004. I had a '96 & it was a fantastic sled with a bullet proof motor, excellent sled, not my "Fav" but excellent nonetheless.
My "favorite" sled is my current 2006 Crossfire 6 with the mods I have added to it. IMO, the ideal UP boondocker with a telescopic steering post & mtn bars, parabolic skis & last but not least a 144 x 2 paddle.-Mezz

2003 Renegade 600 H.O. - Last year of the ZX chassis, 136" Cobra, Variable rate rear shock for silky-smooth ride, DPM altitude/temp. sensing carbs, TRA 3 clutch for great belt life. Have over 9000 trouble free miles on her. Now ride a '15 600 gade but, find myself hopping on the '03 for many local rides. Still a blast!

The ZX was nice and very durable in the 600. I had a long track and it was dialed. 95-96 hood and ZX hood styles were my favorite.

I doubt I could handle the ride anymore but my '97 Polaris Ultra SPX had a sound I'll never forget. Bit of a tank for it's time though.

Outstanding point.
I looked back in time and an pretty sure it was a 1996 580 EXT with battery EFI, not a Cougar. I bought it as a new leftover and a buddy of mine bought the new "first year" ZR-580 or ZR-600 with Batteryless EFI. Do you know if the first year Batteryless was a 580 and what year batteryless came out?

No sure, but I think the 1994 EXT was the first battery-less EFI. I had one, worst new sled I ever owned. Before '94 I think the EFI still had a battery.
