When does a sled "wear out"?

Finally think I wore out my 06 mxz 600 x. Best sled I ever owned. Never any problems but twice at the end of the year limp mode. Will figure it out in the fall. At 9000 miles cannot complain. good excuse to snowcheck the 800 gade I wanted :)
