Where Are Your Guys Brains

Had the county snowplow go by our place Sunday. Gets stuck just down the road, the snow was to deep. He got out and backed all the way out. An hour later a man comes along in an expensive BMW car and gets stuck just past our house. Our 17 year old son was outside and the guy told him he had to get him out. Son gets us. Guy says that we have to help him, but we are not to damage the car in any way. This is where life lessons kick in.

One there is nowhere on a car like that where you can hook on a chain to a tractor and pull that you will not damage the vehicle. Two when someone warns you not to damage the vehicle they are the type of person that has no problems taking you to court. We told him to call a tow company. Instead he calls the sheriff's office. Sheriff's Deputy comes and asks us why after we promised to help the man that we wouldn't. We told him we said no such thing, and asked the Deputy if he would assist in our situation and his reply was no. The Deputy took the man to a hotel, and by morning the car was buried in snow and it took an endloader to get to it.

I'm not heartless. I've pulled many people out. Most were trucks or larger SUVs that have places to hook onto without doing damage. The individual was from the cities, and in his late 50's. Old enough to know what to not do in a situation like this, but still did it anyway.

I find slide offs all the time while plowing. I'll always stop and ask if everyone is OK. If it looks like I can get them out fairly quick; I'll offer, but I make them hook up to their car and say I'm not responsible.

C'mon guys, don't you guys still get a boner when a storm comes around?

Bear

I couldn't stand up most of Sunday and Monday.

I will always help someone on the trail, and have been helped in return. Have never taken or been able to give money in these situations. That's the way most of us are. We are there for each other!

Late Sunday afternoon I found myself in a 5' trench in a waterhole on a power line. Right as the guys I was with were getting their bungie's out, 5 younger punks with the loud onesie suits, backpacks, and mohawk's came over the hill... They beat my group down the hill and got me upright and 4 bungee tugs later I was up top. I gave them all a fist bump and we all said "stay safe" and took off.

So they help you out, yet you still call them punks? Lol. How about, 4 very helpful young men?

some folks are just hard to be nice to
I am half nuts I guess, as I LOVE plowing snow(rather be riding but not always possible here)
so, when it snows, I tend to go thru my neighborhood and plow for folks, I will admit I NEVER ask if I can LOL
I just tend to plow out all the older folks and those that I know and or don;'t think care if I do!
I don't ask for a penny EVER!

I have one older lady near me, that been plowing her place and a few properties she owns and rents out for 20 yrs,
THEN last yr, she SEEN me plowing, and went ape crap crazy on me, threatening to sue me and have me arrested for plowing out her renters drive ways LOL

I been doing it for YRS and she never knew it was me apparently(old lady here about 90 now)
I know 20 yrs ago, she TOLD me never PLOW her drive way, and I didn;'t due to that, BUT for yrs before she moved here her father lived there(nice guy) and I plowed for him all the time!

This yr, I'll add a funny
as I said, I never ask folkks IF they want me to plow, I just plow if I have time and or see there place is NOT plowed yet when I am out

I been plowing one place out the past 5 yrs(longer but)
and a neighbor this winter stopped me, and asked me if I knew the owner of the place died, 4 yrs ago?? and NO on lived there anymore?
I said NO??
as I just never seen them about, knew they were old(also in 80's) and just plowed them due to I knew them all my life, and figured I was helping em out! LOL
didn't know I was plowing a place no one was at !!

but over the yrs I have also had other YELL at me for plowing there drive ways
and I always just stop,
never got why they get mad, but hey, some folks just don't like things done , unless done exactly THERE way!

me, free help is far and few these days
all the others, I gather are OK with it, , they never stop and yell at me any how LOL
