Where to find used snowmobile trailer values

My 27 foot enclosed trailer just suffered severe roof damage. I'm guessing it's a total loss. Where can a person find used trailer values so I am informed when the Insurance adjuster low balls the price?

2007 Legend all aluminum
27 x 7
insulated and finished interior.
great condition prior to event.
E-track system on walls.

That has always been my experience with any dealings with insurance adjusters. My car was totaled a few years ago. The initial offer was $2500 under what was later agreed on. Hail damage on my home, the adjusters first offer was almost 10k under what we later settled for. Anyone that excepts an Insurance Companies first offer just got bent over.

I tried recently to find blue book values for trailers and didn't have much luck. Your best bet would be to just contact a legend dealer and ask and I would even get a quote to repair. If its just roof and the walls are straight might not be as bad as you think. Will depend on how many bows need replacing.

Find a replacement cost for the same or similar trailer then shop for used trailers of the same. You should get a feel for market value with that information!

Try Craigslist in a large city for replacement value and ask for half.

My brother had a trailer similar to yours get pretty damaged by hail. Whole roof, part of front and one side. Insurance adjuster seemed fair to be honest. then he put it up for sale and his combined settlement price and sold price was higher than what he paid for it. Just a thought.

A ten year old Legend should be worth half of what a new one costs or maybe a little more.

You would think but around SE wisconsin I have found people to be pretty overly proud of their trailers. I was looking this fall on criagslist with a 150 mile radius and it was not very helpful. I bought new because it wasn't much more and you get new tires and new bearings and no mouse eaten wiring. People see tread on a tire and think its good not realizing they dry rot with age... ugg,,, trailers

Too funny, I had the same feelings when looking around MN last year. Ended up with new for a little more. I've had a couple trailer dealers tell me that the life of an average trailer is 10 years...

I have never lost more than 250 to bucks a yr when selling a sled trailer .I deprecate them for 5 yrs. cost of new ones keep going up and used hold pace . I am not complaining. it is the only thing in this insane hobby you don't get bent over on

Used trailers hold their value and a lot of times people just don't research how much the same trailer costs new. I've had this advantage MANY times. As an example last summer I sold a 2010 PJ 18' skidloader trailer for $3500 cash. After the guy left I went in the house and dug out the original invoice on it and I paid $3495 for it back in 2010 !! I love these buyers ..LOL..
