Where to go with 14yo and family for MLK weekend?

Need suggestions of where to go for MLK weekend, Jan 14-16, with my 14 year old son plus wife and 11 year old son.

Goals
* Ride time for me and the 14 year old
* Rent a two up for at least one day so we can all go
* Decent hotel with a pool preferred

14 year old has trail riding experience but mostly on low traffic trails around our northern MN lake place or Houghton Lake, MI. Last week was a bust in MN so he hasn't ridden since last year.
Prefer to not take him to high speed high traffic trail areas.

We've stayed at a hotel in Houghton Lake a couple of previous years that has a small indoor water park that worked out well but looking for a change.

We live in Cincinnati so travel time is a consideration. We've got a long drive no matter what, but if snow conditions allow prefer not to go as far as the Keweenaw if I don't have to!

Mercer Wi. Nice Motel with swiming pool. lots of trails. lots of trails out of town some with very little traffic.

It's pricey, and you'll have to trailer to the trailhead, and it does have a few sled rental places in the area, but you can't beat the pools at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City. If the snow is there, the traffic is usually a lot lighter than other parts of the lower. I've taken my family there every last weekend in February for the last four years. Prices range from $180-$500/night, but you get a REAL indoor water park experience.
