where would you stay?

Im taking the wife and going with another couple .(kinda low key trip)Thinking of southern UP like Iron river or Watersmeet and hit the trails from there.Where would you stay i usually to go the Kew or further west UP. I need ideas... Trying to keep under 400miles if possible. Im on the 37 southwest of chicago...

The Chippewa Resort in Iron County is 350 miles or les from the Chicago loop. We have cabins and a full service restaurant/tavern. Located 12 miles east of Iron River with the front of the resort right on Hwy U.S.2 and the back of the resort right on Trail #16 "The Chippewa Trail". The trail groomer comes right into our parking lot! Trail conditions right now are excelent and there are plenty of places to go and things to see if short rides are what you are looking for. Trails also connect to all U.P. trails and loops where you can plan how long you want to be out and never ride the same trail back! For additional information you can call

The Country Village Resort in Ishpeming. Everything is walking distance from the rooms. Food, drinks, bowling, theater, and many other shops. Not to mention some of the best trails the U.P. has to offer. They also have vacation homes for rent as well. And VERY nice units. I've stayed there many times.........
