Zman: Mobile is gone let it go already. That was a good station sorry to see it bite the dust. All these little gas stations are doing is moving money around no big mark up on gas. Konteka stepped up but other gas stations will close & no one there to step up & we lose. What if Konteka did not step up for that area? All but dead cut off from gas. UP never was a problem with availablity of gas but starting to be a probem in some areas. Ma & Pa moving on no one to fill gaps crying shame they can't make it. No one likes overpaying but Yoopers got to live too. Paying more is a whole lot better than walking.

I agree with whitedust. And a gallon of Polaris VES is $42.00 a gallon now at dealers near here. Too much but that is what was on the jug. I'm going to plan B, non-Polaris oil.

I was in the area this past weekend. Started in Hurley and took the back route to White Pine via the south boundary trail By the time we got to WP two sleds were pretty low on fuel. Did not know that the mobile station closed, so we were happy that the Konteka had fuel. Service was excellent and fuel price was reasonable considering there is no other option. I have paid way more for fuel in the past at remote locations.
Just having fuel there saved out group at least an hour of messing around, because there was no way that these two sleds were going to make it down to Bergland with what they had left in the tank. That ment that A couple of us would have had to push on and fill up and then sphion fuel in the the ones that ran out.
What was the deal with the Poo IQ that lost the left A-Arms that was sitting in the parking lot? Was the tree magnet working over time for that poor fella.

We also stayed at the Konteka last week! Awesome! The owner was really nice. Also she even told us that her gas tank is small that she basically pays retail price but has it for the snowmobiles. She actually told us she marks up the gas .04 cents on the gallon. She is very honest, talked to us every morning and even drank coffee with us. Gave us some great advice on the area. KONTEKA is highly recommended in my book! Bowling, Bar, Store, Restaurant, and very large rooms. I had french toast and coffee every morning. French toast $2.00! We also used the hot tub every night as one of our buddies calls it "to get the trail off." 5 Stars for snowmobile friendly!

Actually this Mobile is still in business in Bergland. I refuse to go there. When in Bergland I go to Nordines across the street. THe other pisser about The Mobile in Bergland is that they advertise "last chance for gas". That is B as in B. S as in S. The Konteka has gas!
