lvr1000, that's great. Right thru a No Wake zone. If I tried that the DNR would have me & my kids surrounded with their guns drawn..... I can barely get them to leave me alone after 3 years of showing them my kids " boater safety " certs . I wonder if they would let me slide IF i wore a life vest and had a boaters reg on the sled ????? And a fire ext of course....

This one is easy... are you using the sled for it's intend purpose? Same as riding double when the machine is NOT made to ride double. If you miscalculate and the sled sinks...will it become a hazard, foul the water?? You can get a ticket alright.

There is also a law that prevents crossing navigable streams by ATV or sled. If you get caught you get a ticket. It errodes the stream banks....Never mind that it also puts the sport in a bad light.

When in doubt...don't do it.

We did it.

We did it. We rode over open water near our cabin on Whitefish Bay.

There is a pretty good sized stream that is always open where it dumps into the bay and with the 44 degree weather this past Sat. it was turning into a large area of open water.

By the time we went accross it a dozen times or so it was maybe a 100 feet accross. We just got going about 40 mph and went for it. It really was no big deal after a few times accross.

As I have yet to take the time to learn how to put pictures on maybe my brother (famouseguy) will put some on here.

I will admit it was stupid but fun. Thats what my wife will say when and if she finds out.
