I would look into the odyssey brand battery. It is a dry cell AGM type battery. So far it has been good for two seasons in my sled. Was hooked up all summer and sled started fine this fall.
I have been buying the AGM's. Have several 3-4 seasons on the ones for my jet-ski's & sled. I do have a yuasa in my doo, for a couple seasons. The agm's stand up ( hold up ) better in our extreme enviroment with the vibration and constant jarring recieved while out riding.
AGM is the way to go can mount em in any position with no leakage, I have mine on a battery tender for the summer season, I contacted the manufactor and they said a tender was fine to use in off season.
Can't speak for Poo, cuz I'm a "Doo-hard". But the OEM battery in my sled was a Yuasa AGM. I take it out of the sled in the off-season and put it on the charger once a month. I typically get 3-5 years out of them. Even then they don't always show signs of dying but I figure at that age they're past their prime and I'm not taking chances. I once took the cheap route and bought a knock-off for my jet ski (when I had one) and it didn't even last the season. Cured me of wanting to do that again.
well I can tell you the one in my truck from NAPA only lasted 18mo 2 weeks that is 2 weeks short of the free replacment so I only got some percent off the new one. new one was $54 after pro rating.
gona bring in the boat ones this week for a load test they are getting close to that 18 mo mark
Thanks everyone for your helpful input. I'm going with the Deka AGM . Searched around and found the best price on EBAY. Also buying a pair of Deltran Battery Tenders made in the USA. It's going to be a long summer!
