who makes the best sled?

Did I get your attention? Here is my answer, the best sled is the sled that best fits your riding style. My riding style has changed drastically over my 30 yrs of riding. From strictly trail to now my favorite, Mtn riding. At my age I will not be able to out-ride my sled, I would love a pro Rmk but could I be happy on all of them sure, even a Yamaha would be great after you get some momentum going as they are well balanced side to side and are easy to side hill but weight is an issue so it's probably lest desirable in the Mtn segment in general. Do many people ride in the Mtn and not side hill, I think so and with that in mind some riders can ride any sled and find a favorable feel. Maybe a Doo does not turn over as easy as the other 3 but do all riders want to side hill or aggressively carve, no.

Can you beat a Xfire for boondocking, probably not but again rider style is the single most important factor in determining this. I'm a little taller and lighter than many and that factors in on what I can handle comfortable.

Us slightly older guys find a heavy Yamaha a real treat on open trails (grades, Canada or all around cruising)t kinda like a Cadillac with weight part of the comfort, power steering heck yea! If your not muscling your sled around in an aggressive manner than the weight does not wear you out.

Seriously, Doo has a tremendous ride on trail and the punch of the 600 and 800 etec is incredible, the handling outstanding. Poo on trail is awesome also but depending on how and where you ride will factor into what sled fits you best, it could be any of the 4.

I guess the reason I wanted to start this thread is because we all still have a bias to some degree including myself (Yamaha) but to say mine is better than your will offend some and that's just plain unnecessary and I am guilty of it in some threads. I didn't lie or sugar coat what I said in order to appeal to everybody saying they all are good but truth is, THEY ARE ALL GOOD. What's good for me may not be good for you and that's okay. With that said we still ought to be able to discuss likes and dislikes about sleds because that is usually just what they are, LIKES AND DISLIKES, NOT BETTER OR WORSE. Sure there are some problems with certain motors or suspensions but that is life, they're not intentional and we ought no use the circumstance to fuel division between us. Some design flaws or engineering nightmares should bring strong criticism to manufactures but haven't all manufactures experienced this over the decades. The fact we have 4 choices is awesome when it comes to making a decision in sled purchase. All 4 companies have a lot invested and try their best to give us what we want but people are people and they interpret what we want and give it their best shot. It's no wonder we have bias but to what degree do we take it? Sometimes we take it to far and insult brands and each other, it's not worth it. I have gained so many friends over snowmobiling and this site, it would be a complete shame to jeopardize a friendship over sled preference. With all this said, I cannot wait to ride with many of you guys who come up here. I don't care if your riding a Panther, SRV, Colt or an MXZ. We ride because we love to be outdoors on a rocket with ski's,,,and other reasons . All sleds are just that, sleds and I know one thing we all agree, sleds are fun!

Sorry, I should have put this in off topic ramblings, mods feel freer to move it if you see fit.

Sleds today are too purpose built to blanketly say ones better then the rest. So many people try compare sleds that arent even built to compete against each other.
The best sleds can do everything ....just not the best at everything.
So to answer you question ......YAMAHA!!!!!!! ;). ,...........and then the fight started. lol

This is the right place Lenny! If it has to do with snowmobiling, it can go here. Unrelated to snowmobiling would go in Off Topic.

Great post BTW!
