Firecatguy, he had a 75 yr old lady pull out in front of him and t-bone him. He tried to head for the ditch and get out of her way but she clipped the back end of the bike. He flew into the ditch and then the bike landed on him. It will be a long time before he can ride again and even this years sled season is in question. But like I said thank god he's alive!!! He had just left for a 6 day trip in the UP and only made it to Hayward (163 miles) when he got hit.

ohh man that sucks we take that trip every summer up thru hayward......hope all turns out for him.......sad thing is old lady dont need jail but man what do ya do........its just sad how people dont look or see a bike yet a they never "dont see" a semi and pull out.....

my #1 thing is people pulling out....i focus on there eyes to see if they see me then i put one eye on there front tire if it starts rolling i slow to almost a stop and if that dont get their attention i will stop and flag them to go with my one finger......the ones that dont see you and dont move you have to watch as they will just gun it and go or the ones looking the other way as your comming up on em......I dont trust but 4 or men with my life and none of em are in a car ready to make a turn in front of me....

Firecatguy, be very careful on Hwy 77 and Mosquito Brook Rd, It's about a mile east of downtown Hayward. We were told by the towing company that they tow at least 5 major accidents from there a year. When we went back and looked it's a horrible intersection. Even when I pulled up to the stop sign to cross the highway I had to lean over my steering wheel to look for traffic, guaranteed something a 75yr old woman wouldn't do!! Plus she was in a hurry to leave for her 10 day vacation in Colorado.
No she doesn's deserve jail time but she should have to take her driving test over and come to our house and help with the chores around here. It's tough keeping up with 3.33 acres, the house work, horses and my own business without the help I was use to!! Then she can watch Squat working thru the pain of PT so he can eventually get back to work and some "normal" in his life!!

Today is the day.....Cleanin it up, yanking the battery, putting it on the lift, and saying goodbye til spring. Rain here in Central Wisconsin forecast all weekend, so not holding out hope for another run any longer. On the upside, sleds are prepped and ready to go:). Bring on the snow!!!!!!

I took mine out yesterday for about 240 miles. Went down to Nashville, IN., Bloomington area. Great day of riding, but had a close call when someone pulled out in front of me. I did some yelling in the helmet and swerved, it took a while to get the heart rate down after that.

23 degrees and sunshine this morning on the ride in to work. Plenty of riding left as long as there's no salt on the roads. Then maybe there will be enough snow to ride the snowmobile into work!

Will keep the bike out until they spread salt on the roads, there are plenty of days with warm afternon temps to go for a ride.

Well, it's pretty quiet at work, and gonna be pushing 60 with sun here in Central Wisconsin today. sounds like a recipe for a some miles and smiles. Gonna throw the battery back in, and enjoy the afternoon. How can you pass up the opportunity to ride the day before Thanksgiving? YOU CAN'T!!

Happy Turkey Day to all!!
