will a secondary clutch from a 99 indy 500 work on a 99 xc sp 700?

i'm going thru the whole suspension and taking out studs to see if it gets rid of the vibration from this 700. dealer said secondary is misaligned. the clutch from the 500 has a lot of miles on it but it never vibrated and i figured if it would fit/work i'd give it a try

Probably will fit, and run, but it might not perform the same.

However, it may help you to narrow down the vibartion issue.

Secondary is misaligned?? I don't know much about poo's but I would think unless bearings are wore out that any misalignment would be on primary. Isn't the secondary "hard" positioned??? Do you have the specs so you can check it yourself, or an alignment tool. As far as a swap I know with doo's they are all basically the same just probably different springs.

I will fit and function, but it will have different helix and spring. So if you are just slapping it on for a test run, don't over-rev that motor....it will way over-rev.

I think that sled has a 34 degree straight helix the 700 has a 36, you should be able to switch the helix if you have a good pair of snap ring pliers

i don't need to put a different one on, the vibration was from the studs on the outer edge of the track. ice froze on top of the stud on the inside of the track and they were inline with the bogey wheels. took all of them out last night, rode to school this morning, and it was fine.
