Winter has Arrived!!!

Winter is here! Kids are pumped, 2nd day in a row school is cancelled:) My son would rather be in the skidsteer plowing and he got his wish! LOL! Demo rides will be on this weekend and there's no sign of let up in the weather. Snowing hard and very cold right now! Amen!

Looks like Russia to me!

Here is a shot of Hwy 41 yesterday afternoon. Is why I went home and not down to Calumet right after that pic! Not too often I back out of a short trip to Caly because of weather!

kip glad to hear you are getting some snow! pls think about setting up a cam at your place - there is not a cam in your area

Yep, 6th street in Calumet.

Just was down towards Mohawk, etc...seemed like quite a bit less snow than Calumet but impossible to rly tell considering how it drifted.

I wonder what has happened to all the other cams in that area? Did they all freeze from the weather? Krupps is basically the only one working. Mass, Silver City, White Pine, and Gogebic cams are all stuck in time.

Yes, it's kinda disappointing/depressing to see all the cam owners' indifference (incompetence?) with maintaining their equipment!

I'm relatively new at using the John Dee website - just started last year. When do the snowfall total maps get updated? When I visit that area of the site it says they were last updated 3/30/17. Thanks.

Not very often. Generally by the end of the season.

If you want to see the running total for where John is (just across the border in Keweenaw County) then look at his 'almost live' cam and scroll down. He'll post the amount of snow in the previous 24 hours, the snow depth and the running total for the season each morning around 9am (except for weekends)

Not true Will, it might not be every day but close to it. The snowcover and the 24 hour snowfall totals are updated quite often. Looking at cams works to.
